Radio sound sometimes and not

When car starts, radio turns on and shows cd playing but there is no sound, sometimes there is sound and sometimes not. the radio itself turns on all the times, but sound not always, radio was replaced but its the same. so is not the radio, also the alert sound that tells you the lights are on or ignition key its in, that alert sound comes from the radio and sounds from the driver side speaker, if a different gm radio its installed, that specific alert tone will be different, I installed mine from an impala and the alert sound is not the same as the other radio, both radios were tested in other chevy car and bot radios works right away with no problem, so bad radio is not the problem. any ideas...?

IF the speakers are in the doors then the wiring harness in the door-jam is frayed, and you must cut the rubber to access the wires between the door and the door jam to get at the wires without taking the door apart.

The radio won't work. It is currently on cd mode. When I put the radio on it starts playing the same cd that has been in for a week now. All the buttons dont work. I can't change the mode.

Sound as if there is an internal problem with the system. Will the CD eject when commanded? If not, try to remove it manually with a pair of tweezers or something of the sort to see if it will come back on line. You can also disconnect the battery for a few minutes to erase the units memory ( you may require a code if it has a theft feature ) to see if it will start working again. If nothing gets better, suspect an internal unit issue

My radio/CD player constantly says "ERR" and CD's won't play anymore. It doesn't show the time or the radio station either, just "ERR". I can hear it, like it's trying...

HI lisasmith566 IT is not a fuse problem .
the problem is your the CD part of the radio
must likely the cd is stock or more likely the cd drive motor is defective .
FIRST try pushing eject on radio and see CD comes out if not you need a new radio .

I have a 1998 ford explorer sport. the radio works but no func.

It really just sounds like a bad unit. Was the stereo hooked up before storage and not touched since? No loose wires? I know this might sound like too much but just hook up a different one someone has laying around just to find out were the fault is. On the jeeps factory harness or a bad radio. It dont sound electrical do to the fact is does play cd songs but when the track changes it shutsdown. I think its a junk unit. let me know what you find out. [email protected]

Radio sound

weird one this,is their a module in the facia behind the radio that controls things like A/C.if no one has heard of this then i suggest buying a belson cd/radio like the one i bought which plays a cd/sd card/usb/blue tooth for just about a hundred € ,its brilliant.Did have this with a seat ibiza where the whole panel had to be changed as it wasnt just the radio but the alarm,A/C and blower motor hazzards were all playing up,
