Those numbers appear to be in the normal range, possibly a bit high? Since adj are all computer controlled, I would suggest removing the air intake hose and inspecting the throttle body bore for "coking" of built up carbon, which is a common cause of idle maladies...
I mess up my response I meant. to say a meter for your car. Harbor freight has them and they our not that much . You will see your saving down the road.
Manifoild air leak causing engine to idle too fast. Check for air hose leaks. Some are palstic mated with rubber hose sections. Both can crack and leak.
If engine stalls when stopped at light, torque converter may not be unlocking.
Does your car Idle higher than it has been. Vacuum hose going to the modulator may leaking. This would also cause the higher Idle and your transmission not to shift.
Find the EGR valve on the intake and locate the vacuum hose that is connected to it. Start the engine cold and as it warms up, pull the hose off and if it idles and drives fine, the EGR valve is bad and needs to be replaced. Please rate me on this answer.
It is very likely that you are not giving the engine enough time to reach it's idle mode. Or the idle mode itself is at fault due to a vacuum leak or a sensor failure. Either way try to listen to the engine when cold, and make sure it has idled down before shifting into gear. Thank you, Dana
I had same problem on 2000 Lesabre blowing cold on passenger and warm on driver. I fixed it by adding more freon even though it had 28 pounds of preasure. Now it works great!
