My 1996 cargo hard to push down on excelarator in drive.

The is no problem in reverse.when put in drive it goes but when i excelarate it slips to netutrel

The kickdown linkage for transmission is seized at lever on transmission..spray with a penetrating fluid and try to work loose..if not,the valve body may have to come out of trans to freeup shaft..this is the short lever connected to throttle linkage at trans..should move freely

i think this is normal due to the caster angle of front wheels,i presume you mean the steering wheel moves on acceleration

Check your Inertia sensor for reset. It is usually behind a front kick panel or in some cases, at the rear cargo area next to the air ride switch. Sometimes knocking around on the other parts will activate the Inertia sensor.

The crankshaft sensor regulates fuel pressure by RPM. A failing Crankshaft sensor will under count the RPM resulting in low fuel pressure and poor performance.

You may need to clean inside the throttle body. YouTube has videos on how to do it. Also, your Idle Air Control motor might have carbon build-up in the passage for idle air. Take the motor off, and clean it gently and check the air passage for blockage.

2009 Caliber: light on the dash that as two lines with a lighten...

I have a 2009 Caliber. Lately as I excelarate, this light on the dash that has two lines and looks like lightening bolt comes on and causes the car to not excelarate as it should. The car drives
less than 2 miles an hour when this happens. Even if I push the paddle to the floor, it still rides

Well how short a drive is it.........to get you to go nuts. Is it a high pitched whine? If so look to your right. Is the wife sitting there? If so. That's the problem. Going 75-80 in a 25mph school zone will cause that. And where is the speed limit 75-80 anyway.


It's the radio, btw, install an inline filter to filter out the alternator noise.

Problems during excelaration act's like it' going to cut out during excelaration seems like maybe a fuel problem it seems like it might be miss firing

It sounds like low fuel delivery, check the fuel filter, if it is after the pump and you can disconnect the line to the motor put the end in a container and get someone to start the motor, the fuel should spurt strongly. Beyond this you need to check the lines to the tank.

Excelarator pedal very hard

4.6 v 8 its a gotta a double over head cam motor. which is chain driven,.{if thats the kind of car you have}

and yes u need to lubricate the accelerator cable with graphite.
