Cooling fan stays on after turning off car

Taken from other previous solution (but it's right): the cooling fans are switched off and on by a relay. either this relay bad and staying on all the time, or something else is bad and telling it to stay on all the time. you might unplug the engine coolant temp sensor and see if the fans switch off. if they do you have a bad temp sensor, if they don't you probably have a bad relay. they will test either for you at most car parts stores. the relay will be in the underhood power distribution box, it plugs in like a fuse. disconnect the battery negative terminal before you start unplugging things from the power distribution box. hope that helps

Engine hot a/c off on 2006 impala any suggestions

check cooling fan fuse, a quick way to check, turn on your A/C while the car is running, the cooling fans should come on right away, if not try a direct wire from the battery to the fan plug, that will tell you if you fan motor or motor's are bad.

RADIATOR FAN IS NOT WORKING

If relay and fan fuse are good, disconnect coolant temp. sensor, sensor will be on thermostat housing or just below it, fan should come on right away, if it does replace sensor, if it don't check voltage at cooling fan harness with sensor disconnected, if you have voltage there replace cooling fan assembly.

89 buick century idling ruff when started, and fan comes on right away even though car is cool, but drive ok ones you get going? Ive got a code 22/ 42 Thanks so much

You need to determine why the fan is on (stuck relay, bad sensor etc.) If it remains on, the computer keeps engine controls in "cold-start" mode and will not operate properly. (re-check codes after the fan works right.)

Cooling fan not working

The fan runs on a thermostatic switch that will not start the fan until it gets above operating temperature. This thermostatic switch needs replaced.
