When my engine is running the output of the EML heats too much and the engine does not run properly. The RPM does not exceed 20000.
The M70 has two fuel pumps; one for each cylinder bank. One of mine died. I was able to access the fuel lines at the drivers side (US) rear of the engine. I spliced in a 10mm "Y" connector to the good pump and tied the two fuel rails together temporarily. Runs like a champ!
Yeah its a beast the Monster70. I have a 94 and can tell you for certain your car is running in limp mode. Half of the engine cuts off because the EML detected a problem or you let the cars battery die for too long or removed it. It does this so that you can safely get to a mechanic without destroying you engine. If there are any codes you should pull'em and fix the problems or get them fixed unless your in limp mode due to lack of battery juice, then there will be no code. After you fix the problem or if you recently replaced the battery you will need to resynchronize your engine because you have two of everything cuz its two engines in one. Two idle, throttle, and air flow sensors that have to go at the same time! You have to do the infamous Shogan reset. Shogan has a terrific way to reset the 750il/M70 engines you can find the instruction using a search engine keyword-Shogan reset
Check to see if the Catalytic Conv. is stopped up or there is an ECM on each 6-cylinder bank, this is common on the v12 benzs
