SOURCE: Central Locking not working

Hi Craig,
I'm running a E34 Tds Touring with a similar problem, my rear doors and tailgate have dropped of the central locking circuit.
I have been told it is the Central locking Module a large black box under the dash that is faulty, apparently a common problem.
Hope this points you in the right direction,

SOURCE: 2003 bmw 325i keys does not unlock and the door

insert the key into the drivers side or passender side front door, twist the key and pull open on the handle at the same time and the door will open. It might take a few times to get it, but this does work, source BMW AG Munich.

SOURCE: 2002 BMW 325 - key locked in trunk

There are several suggestions out there on how to retrieve BMW keys from the trunk. Many of the ways I tried failed, and it takes 2 to 3 days to get a new key made up. In the coupe there is the center piece in the back seat that folds down. Then on the back wall there is material that will fold down that is held up with Velcro. Behind that you will find a rubber insulation that is mostly cut and looks like a door, but not all the way. Carefully cut the rubber to remove the piece. Now you will find a metal wall, but there is a large piece that is tack welded on. I got turned around and kicked it with the bottom of my foot and got 3 sides loose. Then a softball bat knocked the final side loose. Pull that out and trash it, the final barrier is the insulation that is held in place with plastic clips that can just be pushed down. After that you can a pretty large hole to work through and get the keys. Just put everything back in place other than the metal plate and you will never know anything was done.

SOURCE: The front passenger side door lock responds slowly

Okay
I have and still have the same problem! one thing I did read was it's the lock itself inside the door, which if youdont get it sorted will be a pricey job. My drivers side door has now completly closed now and won't open (having to jump over other side to drive) Anyhow it can be done yourself but it's a fiddley job.

Bmw drivers door only wont lock/unlock with key fob

Could be your driver door lock mechanism that is going bad , since the other door are working, it cannot be the fob. I would try to change the driver side door latch mechanism.

Sorry my car was not listed so picked Altima 2003 Micra Intelligent key fob not working properly. Can drive the car but cannot open or lock the doors. Did get fob wet. Now dried out. Worked for first few...

You are going to need to check the power lock control moduel on the inside of the door panel. If the FOB appears to be working but the doors are not unlocking, you need to check this. I would also replace all fuses that control the locks. If both of these devices check out ok, you may need to replace your FOB. To check your power lock control moduel, manually lock and unlock your doors by pressing the lock button on the inside of the door. If it does not work, it is either the fuses or the power lock control moduel. If it works, your FOB has gone bad. Hope this helps! Please rate 4 thumbs up!

I just had a 2005 bmw 325i picked up by a towing company because the keys were locked in it. They used a slim jim to open the door and get the keys but now the car won't start.

you could try re-setting the key fob/remote by re-programming it, here is how
1,unlock car as normal with the key..not remote 2,get in car and close drivers door make sure all doors closed! 3,switch ignition on then off ( do not turn it over to run) 4.remove key 5,press and hold UNLOCK button ( do not let it go) 6,press LOCK button 3 times within 10 seconds (all 3 presses) 7,release UNLOCK button you should then ( dependent on model type) either see LED flash slowly for 10 seconds, or the central locking system locks and unlocks rapidly a few times to indicate a successful reprogram of the key, hope this helps

Hi i have a bmw 320ci 2001 and sometimes when i get in and turn ignition on it wont start. i've found the only way to make it start is by pressing the lock and unlock button a few times. hope you can help....

Have you ever changed the battery in the key fob? Next time you go to start it unlock it by using the key in the drivers door lock turn to the unlock position and hold there your windows will lower and sunroof will open. Get in and start car if you do not have to lock/unlock to start change the fob battery if you do need the lock/unlock move your chip in your key is bad
