I assume you mean low idle speed 500 rpm. Genarally a tapping noise comes from the valve train, and a knocking noise comes from the crankshaft connecting rods. The way that a mechanic will narrow it down is to use a mechanics stethoscope. You can get one pretty cheaply at an auto parts store. Put the metal end of the scope on a part of the engine and listen for noise. On the other hand, if your car is idling at 5000 rpm, it would also be making ALOT of noise.

SOURCE: my 2000 honda civic engine light on code p1456

Hey I had the same code and I have a 2000 honda civic lx. My cousin works at honda and drives a '96 honda civic and he has had that code before on his car as well.

First thing he came up with was that the catalytic converter was cracked. We checked mines, and lo and behold, that's what it was.

Look under your hood, and there should be a catalytic converter with a sensor sticking out of it. It is connected to the exhaust manifold and the sensor sticks out of the heat shield. Around the sensor, look for a crack. If there's a crack, that's your problem.

SOURCE: Squeak from front left wheel...

Can you describe the squeak?

Does it happen more when you turn a certain direction?

Try just pushing down on the front left of your car and let it bounce up and down, does it squeak?

I would say its probably mounts, there are usually rubber stoppers on shocks, mounts, well just about everything in suspension has a rubber bushing or stopper to reduce noise and rattling, they may squeak from time to time.

Check your shock absorbers for leaks, look for loose bolts on the suspension and steering components. If you think it may be a rubber bushing, you can get a can of dressing for belt squeals and spray down the bushings, this will eliminate the bushings being the problem.

If it is constant, all the time, whenever you drive it. It could be a fan belt or a timing belt (if the front of your engine is on the left side [assuming you have a transversely mounted engine / front wheel drive])

Check the tension on the belt maybe it is loose.

Hope this is helpful to you.

SOURCE: 2004 Honda Civic -Code P0122 Throttle Position Sensor Voltage Low

yes, this is the case of a failed throttle body, in which case it needs replaced, the car is getting too much fuel causing the high idle. this needs replaced asap. you could proably find a small independant honda shop that could do the work for less.

Error P2138 on Honda Fr-v 2008 1.8i

FRV OR CRV?
FRV IS EUROPE CAR ONLY.
ENGINE REAL NAME: 1.8 L R18A1 I4
SAME ENGINE AS SOME CIVICS HERE, USA
AUTO OR MANUAL TRANS? NOT TOLD
WILD GUESS AUTO?
sm states

Trouble Code Conditions:
APP Sensor A/B (TP Sensor D/E) Incorrect Voltage Correlation
Possible Causes:
  • Intermittent failure. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the APP sensor and the PCM.
Trouble Code: P2138 (1.8L L4 VIN - Auto)
APP Sensor A/B (TP Sensor D/E) Incorrect Voltage Correlation Print this code data so you dont know what APP means.
wall that TBW tech jargon, Throttle by wire.
it is a THROTTLE error.!
that has 3 or 4 TPS sensors and a motor drive to TV
the error means 2 of the sensors do not agree, Correlation error is that.
so is bad TB or bad pedal pots
the service manual tells you the tests with a meter to prove which POT lies .
APP is gas pedal module just above right foot.
TPS TV sensors are inside the TB throttle body, and most times
whole thing is changed out. to fix it. TB
The TB is that things the Air cleaner connects to, on top of engine
it is a large chuck of aluminum .

called TB (classic name)
THROTTLE ACTUATOR and
THROTTLE POSITION (TP) SENSOR
top center of engine , close to fire wall , facing engine.

photo below (civic) shows.
A does not agree with B
A = gas pedal pair of pots
B= TB
my wild guess is pedal module bad.
my guess APP pedal B is bad. and most cheap to buy. (?)

My car is miss firing.car want pick up speed

you could have a number of things wrong. if the check engine light is on then take it to a auto parts store and they can run a scan and lead you in the right direction. could be plugs or wires or coil pack could even be your convertor on the exhaust system is blocked causing back pressure on the engine.

I have a 2000 civic honda, the check engine light is on , the code that came up is P0325

p0325 is referring to the knock sensor. normally it's not the sensor itself but the wiring, connector, or the signal is missing. the sensor might be bad. here's a honda forum thread that discusses knock sensors.
