Olds Aurora seat wont adjust

My '97 Oldsmobile Aurora has a strange problem - the seat adjusting buttons doesn't work completely. It allows me to tilt the seat back but not lower it. It adjusts in about 6 direction and about 4 of them work. The problem is my petite mother used it last and now I can fully lower the seat. Is it a fuse or just stuck? What should I do?

"Olds Aurora seat wont adjust" ..... I have same issue with a 1998 and I found out when I opened the driver side door and wiggle the black acordian-like harness that covers the wires between the door and the dash the seats will move. There is no doubt a break or short in the wiring running through this harness.

Check on the side of the seat for a manual lever. For some reason the car companies still include a manual adjustment in addition to the electric one. If any direction works with the motor then the fuse is good.

I agree with rbc, it's probably loose wires, though I was going to suggest looking under the seat, I don't know where the wires are on this car, but usually they are under the seat and rarely are they neatly placed, easy to bump if anything gets shoved under there. fiddle around with em a little.

I have a 97 Oldsmobile Aurora, how do i remove the Ignition Switch and when i do get it out will it work in another olds aurora , so basically i want to put the 97 switch in a 95

You might interupt the security system thats on your vehicle. If you make the switch and the security icon pops up on the dash. That vehicle wont start ever again. at least till you fix the security. Is there a little black chip in your key? Thats a dead give away, If there is a chip, you'll have a one in 15 chance that it will work.

Is a 99 buick park avenue fuel pump compitable with a 1997 oldsmobile aurora? there both a gm product

According to my parts guide, the fuel pump for your 97 Olds Aurora fits only that and the 97 Buick Riviera's and nothing else. The pump for a 99 Park avenue comes up as a different part number. Hope this helps!

2001 Olds Aurora Driver's Seat Problem.

The seat is programmable to each keyless remote that comes with the car. If the car has the same features as mine, when sitting in the drivers seat and you look on the drivers side door there are two buttons labeled with a 1 and a 2 and if you adjust the seat to how you want it with the car on and then press either one of those buttons and hold it down until it beeps it will then set the seat to one of the two keyless remotes which each have a 1 or 2 engraved into the plastic back of the remote. Then every time you unlock the door the seat automatically readjusts to wherever it was set when one of those buttons was pushed to save the setting.

1995 olds.aurora

This part is called the auto leveler or air ride compressor. If it has air ride then it is the compressor, If it is constantly running it is possibly the leveler switch that is mounted on the lower control arm that detects the ride height and tells the compressor to kick on.

I just recently recieved a 1997 olds aurora without a manual. how do i push up the seat?

In an Aurora they usually come with Power seats so it would be a black button on the door panel. If for some reason , and I have never seen this, you got one without power seat, there should be a bar to lift up under the seat at you feet.
