Power steering We are changing the power steering pump in our 1993 mercury villager. The thing is, we can't seem to find it. Where is it? Is it hard to change? Would we be better off putting it in the shop?

You have to bleed the pump and rent a pulley puller but if you are mechanically inclined it should be relatively easy although time consuming.I am attaching a picture

I have been in the automotive business for years, you can go to any dealership or any mechanic shop get to know one of mechanic and you all in. here is the secret, once you in you can actually find out who does work on the side and many of them do work on the side for extra money. they been doing it for years that way you dont have to pay the shop prices. you can also post on the craiglist for mechanic, time are tough and you be surprise. most mini-van work have to be done from hte bottom up, lift is the easiest way to work on them.
