92 Toronado headlight doors don't seem to stop when doors are closed.

I would check the headlamp door open and close relays first. One or both of them may be bad. It might be a bad headlamp door motor assembly as well. Is there anything blocking the doors from closing all the way? Have you tried closing and opening them manually? You can remove the rubber boot from the door motor knob and turn it by hand.

Need motor for 1990 olds toronado headlight covers.Where can I find one?

You may be able to find one on eBay. Have you checked the relays for the motor? There is one to open and one to close.

I have 1990 vette have rebuilt headlight motors and a new headlight module , but headlights still go up and stay up in sunlight

Not a Corvette expert, but I don't think sunlight would have any effect.
The motors should close the doors when you turn the lights off regardless if it is dark or not.
Are the headlights staying on, or just the doors staying up ? The up position is the default when something is wrong, so I think it takes voltage to close them.

Hide-a-way headlight problem

As I remember it, the doors are closed until you turn the headlights on. There is a wire in the headlight switch that triggers the relay for the doors. What happens if you unplug the doors ? Does the relay send power to the doors ? Does the fuse still blow ?

Headlights will not open or close on my 88 daytona. Worked fine until I stopped at store. Came out and they would not open again. Fuse and circuit breaker ok. Getting power to motors. If I open them...

Hello
This problem is more than likely the headlight door relay module, the relay is located in the top center of the dash where a speaker would be.
If the headlights do not come on as well as the door don't open then the problem may be the headlight switch, it controls the headlights and the ground side of the relay closing coil. The relay should be fairly cheap. The headlight switch is very cheap as well, to replace it you reach behind the switch and press the silver button at the rear top of the switch, at the same time pull the knob out, once the knob and shaft are out just remove the male threaded nut that secures the switch to the dash panel. Also make sure you like for heat damage to the wires in the connector to the switch, all the terminals should be bright metal, if they are discolored the connector must be replaced with a repair connector. See picture of switch below.

I am having problems with my 1988 Chrysler New Yorker motorized headlight covers. Both headlight covers don't close completely when I shut the headlights off. There is about 3 inches to go on both...

I have the same problem with my 93 Salon. Take a look at the torsion bar rod end close to each headlight. There are collars that have a set screw which can be loosened to adjust the range of the door opening and closing. If the doors are going through the full cycle open to close but fall back and leave a gap such as you describe, most likely you will only need to adjust those screws. Each door will require adjustment individually. May require an allen wrench. Hope this helps.

Headlight doors won't stop opening and closeing

The headlight switch is called a multi-function switch. That is the problem, its going out, if you replace that, it will fix the problem, they run about $75 and are fairly easy to do yourself.

1985 Fiero: headlight doors will not open

Your headlight motors are bad. Pre-87 cars had a terrible problem with this, upgrade them to the 87-up style. Firebird/Corvette motors are the same.

1987 corvette, headlight goes down and motor continue to run

Check the sensors that tell the relay to shut off when the lights close down all the way. This is a fairly common problem especially if this has never been replaced before.
