My 2004 Chevy key fob won't unlock the car doors....the lock button works just not the unlock. I replaced battery, try to clean the connections but it still doesn't work. What else can I try?

Also when I manually lock the door from the inside all the doors except drivers door locks.

SOURCE: key fob will not activate anything. can't

I too had this problem. I finally found out that my problem was the result of the metal contacts that touch the circuit board when you push the buttons had worn out. To correct my problem, I purchased a small pad that slides right inside the remote and fixes all the buttons. Since then, my remote has worked problem free for the past 3 months. The company that makes the pads is KEYLESSFIX. The following link will take you to the actual website:

SOURCE: power door locks and drivers window have failed on 2004 colorado

I had the same problem to the T. I look online for all the same solutions and I can only tell you what worked for me. Actually what I think worked, HAHA! I went out to my truck and unplugged both battery terminals from battery and placed them together to supposedly reset the electrical system, "so I was told." After this for about 20 min or so, I went back out and in this order; re-installed positive terminal followed by negative terminal to battery. After this I checked locks and windows and surprise they worked. I've seen a lot of people say that all they did was wait and they worked later, so maybe it was that and not what I did, but who cares, they work now. Give it a shot and if it works for you, GREAT let me know, I HATE CHEVY CAUSE OF THIS......they wanted me to pay for a stupid diagnostic before they would help me........well screw you I fixed myself. SOURCE: Power door locks won't unlock + tailgate won't open

your issue involves the master control switch panel on the drivers side and or the passenger side as well some how the contact inside the switch assembly has either shorted out or no longer makes contact for the unlock side of the circuit. replace the drivers side panel switchs it's either a series of switc hs or mostimes one sigle board of switchs. you are better off going to an auto parts store rather than a GM dealership this will save you quite a bit on cash on the parts. now as to the rear tailgate. if it is electronic controled and there is an issue with the master switch you can,t manually unlock it because of a safty issue built in the system. you can manually unlock the passenger compartment doors for thew same reasons of safety but doesn't apply to the tailgate. just replace the parts and this will take care of the problem

On the Chevy key fob, press and hold the "Unlock" and "Lock" buttons at the same time until you hear the door lock and unlock again. This means you're all set. Re-insert the programmed key back into the ignition to the "On" position to finish the Chevy key fob programming process

Key won t unlock doors

lost the other fob>>> ?????
never own a car with 1 fob.
and if one fob messes up, the battery inside is dead. (or worse)
if just lock fails the button is bad, if one fob false, and they do
its just cheezy switch. (can be cleaned)
use the other FOB, if it fails, post.

Is have recently replaced my battery in my circle fey fon for an mgtf 2003 how do I connect this so the alarm discounts and I can actually get in my car

If your key fob has just stopped working try this:

  1. Unlock your vehicle with the key in the drivers door lock, do not open the door.
  2. Press the right hand button lock button (the button with the padlock symbol or the dimpled button) on the key fob 4 to 8 times.

If the above fails try this:

  1. Open the key fob
  2. Remove the battery
  3. Press any button 10 ten times, and the same with the other button
  4. Refit the battery or a new battery
  5. Unlock the vehicle with the key in the drivers door lock, do not open the door
  6. Press the right hand button lock button (the button with the padlock symbol or the dimpled button) on the key fob 4 to 8 times

Take the key apart, replace the battery. The car needs to relearn the key, so stick it in the ignition, turn the car to the "on" setting without starting, press the unlock button on the fob. Thats it!

1999 porsche 996 replaced key fob battery disconnected battery now trunk releses are locked and cant access battery. How do you open frt trunk manually

Assuming the car battery is ok (if not, buy a male to male cigarette lighter at the auto store and connect to another car until charged enough to unlock the doors...but don't try to crank the ignition!). The trunks won't open if the battery went dead with the alarm set because arming the alarm physically locks the releases.

Sounds like the key code is switched off because you replaced the key fob battery. Try unlocking the car manual with the key in the door lock. Then switch the ignition on to reactive the keyless entry. If this does not work, you might also try pressing the fob unlock button with the key in the door lock until the dash led flashes.

2004 chevy trailblazer door lock remotes

The body shop should be able to program the Key F.O.B back to your vehicle. If the battery was disconnected the reciver to the F.O.B lost the frequency.
If the shop can not fix it the dealer can.
