Where is located the ground wire on mazda mpv 2001?

Your ground wire connection for the OBD2 connector is located under the dash just below and to the right of the heater controls. More likely that you dont have power to the connector. Check the 10 amp "ROOM" fuse in under dash fuse box.

ODB1 versus ODB2

If the scanner or code reader will not communicate with the computer, you need to check the cig lighter fuse first.

1999 oldsmobile alero, no dash gauge response, no obd2 plug voltage

Check pin number 16 of the OBD 2 diagnostic connector, it should have 12 volts, if not the port will not power up the code reader or scanner. See diagram below.

Ssei is it an obd 1 or an obd 2, my engine lite is on but I get no reading from an obd 2 and a conflick of wich 2 terminals to cross for an obd 1

94 and 95 bonneville's have a odb1 system but the plug under the dash for the code reader is for odb2/.
you have to get a code reader that will read odb1 and odb2 with a manufacture special plug to read them.
also the computer in the 94-95 are only used in those 2 years.
new one at most auto parts stores is about $100.00
cheap compared to other years.
if you have lots of codes and it runs good but just turns itself off all the time it's the computer.
I had to replace 2 so far one in a 94 and one in a 95.

1996 Toyota Paseo check engine light on

The Paseo is OBD2 (all '96 and up are, a few 95's of certain manufacturers are also, but generally anything 95 and older is OBD1). There are 2 possible locations, the one under the hood that you found, and another in the more typical driver side of steering column, below dash.
