The only recalls so far are ."..Recall # 104283 ...Seat Belts ..which is important and Recall # 102625 Side window air bags...Both of these are important but you Will have to take it to a dealer to match VIN NUMBERS to recalled vehicles...Not all vehicles have this problem but there are many of them....1,339,355 have the seat belt recall...and 1,176,407 have the air bag recall...

recalls are a legal requirement of the manufacturer and can be done any time . They are required to notify the transport authorities of any cars not completed during the recall. I would front the car and ask to have the recall done as per the recall notice.

Remedy:DEALERS WILL REPROGRAM THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE (ECM OR ENGINE COMPUTER). YOUR VEHICLE WILL ALSO BE INSPECTED TO DETERMINE IF IT HAS BEEN CONSUMING ENGINE OIL AT A HIGHER THAN NORMAL RATE. IN A SMALL PERCENTAGE OF VEHICLES, ENGINE REPLACEMENT WILL BE NEEDED. Consequence:IF THE BRACKET IS CRACKED, THE STABILITY OF THE VEHICLE MAY BE AFFECTED UNDER SEVERE DRIVING CONDITIONS. THIS COULD LEAD TO A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.

the 98 Honda Accord does not show a recall for the ignitor..there is one for the ignition switch.......maybe he got those confused....As for the 83 i was unable to locate any recall records for it :(
