Not difficult it's part of your positive wires inbound to dash... It's easy to rewire just be patient and find where the wires go/where they come from... The white wires are hot aka positive but all others are color coordinated in I'd say 8-9 colors. Most wires change colors from the cab back or cab to engine compartment and some are a pain by going into old school 1 to 3 wire connections. If you can't find it still or its missing pieces look up a junk yard and grab another couple used pieces for it. Also look at your light switch, bright light switch or grounds to even your tail lights... Sometimes even a stray branch on a back road will rip a wire loose if it's old and brittle

SOURCE: Need location/description of brake light switch for 99 dodge van

This is not vehicle specific, but normally the switch is near the top of the brake pedal arm, on the side closest to the front of the dash (opposite side from the firewall) - it should be pretty obvious. it has a 'pin' that is pushed in when the brake pedal is at rest, and as the brake pedal is depressed, it pops out, closing the switch.

Brake lights not working on a 1987 dodge d150

I don't know this particular vehicle, but most all those old cars have a brake light switch immediately above the brake pedal. The moment you touch the pedal, the switch releases to on position. At a GUESS, I think you may have turned it, bent it, popped the wire out of the switch, cut the wire accidently, jammed the switch closed (off) with carpet, or wires, or other materials. ETC... Take a good light with you and stick your face down in the foot well. EDIT; It's also possible you interrupted the wiring where it travels past the firewall. Out of the cab.

How to trouble shoot no brakelights?

Well first you go to the fuse box and find stop light see if it has blown if not go to the rear and remove the globe holder plug assy which has either double or single light bulb if double get test light and touch either wire and get someone to turn on the ign switch [on but not start] and also put foot on the brake pedal ,if the test light dont light test the other wire base ,if no light comes on then go to the stop light switch mostly on the brakeline connection box under the bonnet or it could have a brake switch in the cab above the brake pedal and that will have either a broken wire or switch unserviceable .

You have a blown fuseable link under the hood. Look in the driver side you see wires wrapped up unwrap and check each wire. Replace blown wire and should fire up.

Dodge abs light and brake light staying on

This means that there is something wrong with the ABS. The problem could be a sensor on the wheels or something wrong with the valves.

1987 dodge d150 break lights

get yourself a tester to see if you are getting power to the light socket, have someone push on the brake petal and use the tester to check for power. If no power, you have a broken wire somewhere between the rear lights and dash [fuse panel] check for corrosion in bulb socket. try to find the wire along the frame to the rear lights for any breaks in the insulation. electrical is one of the hardest problems to solve, good luck.

No brake lights and i already changed the bulbs. for a 1984 d150

Before you did the lamp change you could have measured the voltage at the point of brake application. Now if present then check if the rear lamp assembly gets the ground connection.
if absent the brake light switch is faulty. Check the voltage at the switch point.
Also check the brake lamp fuse on the fuse box under the dashboard.

check fuses for brake system.also check brake switch under dash behind brake pedal. disconnect plug from brake switch and use a jumper wire to jump across plug to activate brake lights. if your brake lights come on remove switch and install new switch. hope this will help.

On an 86 dodge the brake light stays on. and has always been on since i aquired the vehicld. fluid level is good and front brakes are brand new

You need to check at switch above brake pedal. Should have power one side only until pedal is pushed.
