These are on pins 5 and 6 of either tail light assembly. You can splice the backup wire to the wire on pin 5. For the ground, trace the wire from pin 6 to where it connects to the frame. Attach the camera ground to the frame there.

Assuming you have an aftermarket stereo with a display, it should have instructions for wiring the backup camera. You usually have to splice into the backup lights positive wire and run a jumper to the stereo. The stereo may have power for the camera as well as the signal wire. If no power wire, it may have a switch wire. If just a switch wire, you will need to run accessory power to the camera. You will also need to connect the camera ground wire to the frame of the truck. Read the instructions for both the stereo and the camera carefully.

These cameras are VERY basic, SIMPLE and USUALLY have only a few connections:

12V+ (switched usually RED)*
12V- (or chassis ground usually BLACK)*
VIDEO Output: A "Shielded" cable (YELLOW).

*(note: The Camera 12V connections MAY have a connector attached as shown in RED below... cut it off).






UNMOUNT the original camera. Make these connections BEFORE you mount your NEW Camera...

1. CAREFULLY CUT and STRIP the new CAMERA wires 'as needed'

2. SOLDER the wires to your "ORIGINAL CAMERA CONNECTOR" (NOT at the CAR CONNECTOR)!

3. Tape your connections well!

4. TEST your new camera. HUZZZZZAAAAA!

Notes: It should be very easy to ID the VIDEO COAX. It should be somewhat larger than the other wires. The COAX may be somewhat 'delicate' so use care.

Your problem there may be that your back up lights are not getting 12v to the system, if you have a multi meter you can test how much voltage it getting through the wire, also maybe the camera is not being wired correctly into the backup light or there is a shortage somewhere in the wire.

Pull the light assembly out on the side you are going to tie into. Pull the bulb out of the back up light. look at the center of the socket and that is the wire you want tie into for your power up to the the camera.

"Life wire??" I don't know what you mean.
Usually, the backup camera will derive its power from the positive lead of your backup lights, so that it only turns on when you're backing up. You can use a standard wire tap to derive positive (+) from either backup light, and use chassis ground for the negative (-) lead of the camera.

Sorry but we have no wiring diagram here for this car.

make sure your backup lights are coming on. if the backup lights are working when in reverse then most likely you have a bad camera or loose connection. also may want to check for power to the camera ( fuses/circut).

With a backup camera I installed on my wife's Pathfinder, there was a power wire that connected to the backup light power. So when the backup lights came on in reverse, the camera got power, sent a video signal to the dash radio screen, and it would automatically switch to that input. You might have a bad wire/connection supplying power to the camera.
