Pull it out an see if it's burnt . The fuse is located in the right hand instrument panel fuse box . HVAC BLOWER fuse 20amp . There is also a blower motor relay in the under hood fuse box .
RH IP Junction Block (fuse box)
In the right side of the passenger compartment , open the right door ,at the end of the I/P pull the plastic cover to see fuse box
In the Engine Compartment Fuse Block, this is located on the driver's side of the engine compartment, near the battery... check Position 9 for REAR DEFOG (Mini Relay) and Position 34 (Mini Relay) for ACC POWER OULETS and CIGAR LIGHTER.
CHECK TRUNK FUSE AND RELAY ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FUSE BLOCK ON DRIVER SIDE ON SIDE OF DASH PANEL.IF FUSE RELAY OKAY THE TRUNK ELECTRIC OPEN SOLENOID SWITCH BAD.THE THEFT SECURITY HAS TO CHECK AT DEALERSHIP.MOST TIME WHEN YOU HAVE TROUBLE WITH IT.YOUR KEY OR SWITCH WORN ALSO BCM CONTROL MODULE.IF DEALERSHIP FIND FAULT IN THE THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM THEY HAVE TO FIX IT AND REPROGRAM IT.NOT A HOME FIX.
Check the fuse first. Then check the resistance of the Defroster grid w/ohm meter. As long as you measure anything BUT infinate, its ok. If ok replace the timer/switch module in the dash panel.
Turn off the car before pulling out a fuse. Find the two fuse boxes in the passenger compartment of your Oldsmobile Alero. One is on the driver's side and the other is on the passenger's side of the instrument panel. Consult your owner's manual to find the location of the fuse you need to change. You can also find this information on the inside of the fuse box cover. Locate the blown fuse. If it's a radio fuse in a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero, you'd find it in the slot marked "Radio Batt" in the fuse box on the passenger's side. Use the fuse puller inside of the fuse box to remove the fuse. Check the inside wire of the fuse. A blown fuse has a burned or broken wire. Put in a new fuse with the same rating. Verify the fuse rating against what's listed on the fuse box or owner's manual for the particular model and year in question. Click it into place and close the fuse cover. Restart you car and verify you've corrected the problem. If the radio calls for a code:If you bought the car new then there should be writen in the manual the code for the theft lock system on the radio. Pre-owned then it might ,might not be in there. or if you don't have one at all. Go to your nearest GM dealer and have them fix it by finding the code using the Vin #. Make sure to have them write it down for you in case this happens again. Good luck and hope this helps
