Hi i would suspect that the problem lies with the clutch master cylinder which is located behind the clutch pedal, it still may be a clutch or slave cylinder issue but if the clutch has failed we wont no unless we take the gearbox out, which can be costly, the most common issue with your complaint is the clutch master cylinder

Have you tried pressing on the brake pedal before starting the vehicle. If the car is off, you can not take the car out of gear.

Brake lights not working in vw bora

1. Check the rear lamps brake bulbs.
2. Then check the brake pedal switch, placed above pedals on the support. In the most cases the brake pedal switch is bad. Replace if necessary.
3. Then check power supply wires, if the brake pedal switch is good.

I own a 2000 golf gti, just driving home and the clutch pedal has just hit the floor. Is it a clutch cable snapped or is it more serious?

its the cable.or the cable clip at the clutch bell housing end..thats the only thing that would cause the pedal to drop.......takes about an hour to change, and i dont think they are too expensive.....

The clutch pedal on my passat stayed close to floor

sounds like a problem with the hydraulic clutch, either the master or slave cylinder was bypassing fluid and causing the low pedal.
