Welcome to Fixya

There is a huge possibility that there is a problem with your ignition switch. The ON position should supply power to all electrical automotive equipment, such as the fuel pump and engine sensor applications and dash lights. If you turn the key to ON position and non light inside you dash then the problem is the ignition switch.

Thank you for using Fixya!

Hi, this sounds like the starter solenoid, but on your car the solenoid is integrated with the starter motor assembly. You will need to remove the starter and have it tested at your local parts chain.

If you have the proper equipment, you can test at home as indicated below. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

TSX Models

NOTE The factory sound system has a coded theft protection system. It is recommended that you know your reset code before you begin.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions section.
  2. Remove or disconnect the following:

Negative then the positive battery cables Intake manifold Starter cable from the B terminal Black/white wire from the S (solenoid) terminal Harness clamp and holder Two bolts that mount the starter to the transaxle assembly Starter
To install:
  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
NOTE When installing the heavy gauge starter cable, make sure the crimped side of the terminal end is facing out.
  2. Enter the anti-theft code and radio presets.

I have a ford Everest trend brand new, it rained last night and I came out to all my windows down and the car soaked the windows were up when I left it ladt

On my vehicle if you hold down the Door Unlock button for 5 seconds, it rolls down all the windows and opens the sunroof. This is great first thing in the morning on a hot sunny day, not so good when it is raining. Check your manual. Do you have children who play with the fob, or keep it in a pocket were something can press the buttons?
