I have a 2001 Lincoln LS with a 3.9L, I changed the heater core, and the OGM heater line that had a crack in it. I alos topped off the antifreeze, I ran the car for 20 minutes and felt all the heater lines to the heater core valve, and they were also hot, but to the heater core valve lines to the firewall were cold. Does tis mean I need to change my heater core valve? Because all I am feeling is cold air coming through the vents and the A/C light is on.

Your problem could be caused by an air bubble in the heater coil. Take off the thermostat, turn the heater control valve off and on. If it starts working, replace the thermostat. If not, it is probably the heater control valve which will need replaced.

SOURCE: 2001 Lincoln LS heater blows

When the engine is cold,check the coolant level.

Make sure it's on max.

===

A coolant system should be flush every two years.

===

If you did a coolant flush recently then air pocket can be the cause of the un-even heating problem.

The DIY method is to drive you car onto a ramp or a steep hill.

Iet the engine cool off and top off the coolant tank.

Set MAX heat + MAX fan

Let the engine ran for 20 minutes wih the cap off and the trap air will escape from the coolant reserve tank,

Check coolant level and top off coolant when the engine cools down.

A shop will charge $75+ for this but using an air operated excavate tool!

========

A car with over 90K miles may experience linkage problem to the heater control valve.

The heater control valve (near the firewall) may be stick over time.

Open the hood and move the heater to max and min. Back and forth.

Clean and lube the linkage with WD-40 to free the heater control valve.

If it's a vacuum type heater control valve then cash for leaky vac. hoses.

=======
Move the fan switch back and forth to re-new the electrical conductors.

Pass a vacuum over the control panel to prevent dust build up behind the console.

SOURCE: heater blows only cols air-

sounds like a restricted heater core. if you remove the heater hoses from the engine, pour some cooling system cleaner in. let it sit for 10 or 20 minutes, then you can flush with a garden hose.

THE LINCOLN NAVIGATOR HEATER IS NOT WORKING IS BLOWING COLD AIR

check your antifreeze level, if its low then it will cause it to blow cold. or you could have a blend-air door problem under the dash: look for a loose vacuum line behind the glove bow for this. Or you could have a bad heater core.

My 2000 lincoln ls heater is still not working after i changed the thermostat and water pump,and blowing cool air out. what can it be?

Check the 'heater control valve,' which is attached to the heater hose line under the hood. If it is malfunctioning, it will prevent hot coolant from reaching the heater core, with the result being no heat. This is a $30 part, usually not too tough to get at, although I've never changed one on a Lincoln.

The heater will only blow cold air. THe engine is warmed up but no hot air is being produced. What is the problem?

Start simple, check the coolant level, if it's too low, hot coolant won't reach the heater core, resulting in no heat. If the level drops further, the engine overheats. So check the level 1st, if it's ok, what does the engine temp gauge indicate? Is it running cold, normal, hot?

My 2001 lincoln ls v6, the heater works fine except it doesnt blow out hot air. only cold, the car temp gauge is working normal too

It's possible the cooling system is just a little low on coolant. There could also be a valve in the heater hose that is failing to open and let the coolant flow through the heater core. It could also be the heater core itself. Did it start doing this gradually or did start all at once? If it came on gradually it most likely the heater core or low coolant, if it happened suddenly it's a valving or heater control problem. Good Luck.
