2002 honda crv does nothing when I try to start it. I just got a new starter put in yesterday. All my power works. The car just won't make a sound when I try to start it not even a crank.
Start by making sure the battery has at least 10.4 volts and that the cable clamps are clean and tight on the battery posts. If these are good, check the wiring to the starter. Make sure the "small" wire is pushed all the way into the connector and the "big" wire is tight against it's post. If all this is good and it still won't start, I would check to see if full battery power is going to the started on the "big" cable. If not, you need to back track the wiring to see where power stops. Possibly the alarm system is activated or the ignition switch has gone bad or the fuse for the ignition system is blown because of the old starter. Of course, start with the fuse check first.

if the clicking sound is coming from the engine compartment, it is the starter solenoid. let her try it a couple of times. sometimes it would connect and start the car. then she can bring it home.

if it is clicking , it is the starter solenoid. but honestly It is most probably a low battery. Hope this helps

this happens alot on older vehicles most often times because the coolant hose shrink and expand around a fitting. try and tighten all coolant clamps. this often is all it takes to solve the problem. you should also look to see that all seals around heads of engine show no seepage

will it start with a boost? either the starter motor or the battery. take the battery to auto zone and they will test it for you.
