Crv wont start

2002 honda crv does nothing when I try to start it. I just got a new starter put in yesterday. All my power works. The car just won't make a sound when I try to start it not even a crank.

Start by making sure the battery has at least 10.4 volts and that the cable clamps are clean and tight on the battery posts. If these are good, check the wiring to the starter. Make sure the "small" wire is pushed all the way into the connector and the "big" wire is tight against it's post. If all this is good and it still won't start, I would check to see if full battery power is going to the started on the "big" cable. If not, you need to back track the wiring to see where power stops. Possibly the alarm system is activated or the ignition switch has gone bad or the fuse for the ignition system is blown because of the old starter. Of course, start with the fuse check first.

if the clicking sound is coming from the engine compartment, it is the starter solenoid. let her try it a couple of times. sometimes it would connect and start the car. then she can bring it home.

tnx 4 using fixya,

SOURCE: 2002 HONDA CRV COLD ANTIFREEZE LEAK

this happens alot on older vehicles most often times because the coolant hose shrink and expand around a fitting. try and tighten all coolant clamps. this often is all it takes to solve the problem. you should also look to see that all seals around heads of engine show no seepage

will it start with a boost? either the starter motor or the battery. take the battery to auto zone and they will test it for you.

I have 2002 pt . I have no problem with it, started it and put in gear, went to pull out and it shut off, now it won,t start back up, put new battery in, new switch, still nothing,

Possible starter failure if the engine doesn't crank. You can try tapping on the starter motor using a blunt object while turning the key to see if it starts. If it starts, suspect a defective starter motor. If it is a manual transmission, you can push start it in gear

Car won't start, no sound at all when I try.

If you can get it to an auto parts store they can hook up a computer thing and tell you whats wrong. sounds alot like a bad starter.

Honda crv 04' key won't turn over & I'm stranded

if your battery isnt dead (try boosting it) then check to make sure the car is in park all the way and try again if nothing happens you need a new starter. alot of people dont put the shifter all the way back to park and that keeps it from starting.

Either your battery cables are loose, or dirty, or you forgot to turn something off, and your battery is dead.

I cannot get into my honda 2002 crv. Both electric keys don't work. Can unlock only drivers side with the keys. Try to open any other door ... nothing ! Put key in ingnition absolutley nothing !! as if...

Honda uses a main fuse under the hood near the battery, if the car is completly dead, no lights, no horn. then I would start there.
Follow the red positive cable from the battery to each stop, you should locate a fuse. If the cable goes directly to the starter, then look for the power distrubution box, check for the main fuse or breaker there.
Hope this is of some help.
