I was driving my 2002 Kia Sportage when all of a sudden the clutch went to the ground. Please help me.

Hi...To response to your question about your clutch problem....Open Your Hood, on the driver side inside close to the transmission, look for broken cable clutch ...am not sure it it hydrolic system or just metal cable.. Look under if the cable is broken from the tip of the arm or at the base of the transmission itself But again if it hydraulic you will see a metallic oil line instead.. good luck.

How do I change the starter?

Hi,

here is for the Removal & Installation
1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove two upper bolts from intake manifold bracket. Raise and support vehicle. Raise and support vehicle. On M/T, remove clutch slave cylinder from side of clutch housing and push it aside.
2. On all models remove lower intake manifold bracket bolts and bracket. Remove two upper starter bolts and a lower bolt. Pull starter from clutch (M/T)or converter (A/T) housing and prop in place. From above, disconnect starter solenoid "S" and "B" terminal connectors. From below, push transmission harness aside and remove starter.
3. To install, reverse removal proceedure. Rotate starter to provide proper clearance. Torque all nuts and bolts to specifications.

Good luck!

How do u replace a fan clutch on a kia sportage

Just leave the belts on the engine and use a open end wrench,I think a 10 mm,might be a 8 mm,and use another wrench to hold one of the nuts, and loosen all the nuts, then remove them by hand.Of course the fan shroud needs to be removed at the same time you lift the fan and fan clutch up,and out of the vehicle. Then just unbolt the fan from the fan clutch, install in reverse order. If this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

2002 Kia Sportage Car spongy clutch pedal Answer The clutch pedal is very spongy, and sometime has not pressure on the pedal at all when the vehicle... (More) The clutch pedal is very spongy, and sometime...

The spoongy feeling is a defective clutch slave cylinder. Generally a cluthc will not slip because of a pressure issue with hydaulics.

If the clutch is slipping with your foot off the pedal it defineately is time for a clutch job... Best bet is to get it inspected to be sure.

Manual Transmission stick jammed after BRAKE Light ON for a day. 2002 Kia Sportage ONLY drives in 4th gear. Mechanic says Brake Fluid in Kia Sportage Lubes and Cools Manual Transmission? Might have gone...

Need more info on what the trans is doing , or not doing. No chance that brake fluid cools or lubes your transmission. The only possible connection is that your clutch is hydraulic which would use brake fluid , but two totaly different systems. Does your clutch feel funny?
