I was a little surprised, but according to my AllData data base, this vehicle does not have a replaceable cabin filter. It is possible they're wrong. Try buying one, quite often they come with instructions. If not, don't buy it. This may sound hit and miss but even the manufacturers change things like this within model years.
if the pump is in the tank (which i think it would be) then you're going to have a tougher time. if you could make an adapter to that the pump sucks the gas through a filter first, then all you would have to do is change the filter in front of the pump. as for modifying it, idealy, you would need to get an external pump and have a filter in front of it.....could mount it outside, but either way, you will have to do a bunch of jimmy rigging to try and get it to work... good luck, don't know what else to recommend to you..
It's under the dashboard. First you must dismount the accelerator pedal
(!), remove some dashboard plastic on driver side. The filter is
somewhere behind the central console. I think it should be changed every two years. Look into the manual. The
company where you take the car for oil & filter change every year
must change also this filter with no additional charges. Of course they
charge you for the filter, which is not very exponsive.
Under the black plastic cover that hides half the engine department.
You need to remove some torx screws in order to get access underneath to the cabine or aircon filter.
is the car on recirculate or fresh air? air from your aircon comes through the bottom of your front windscreen, make sure its clear and free of leaves or anything that can cause blockage to stop it from become damp inside the aircon ducts. if it is definately petrol fumes you may have an exhaust leaking from your engine bay, releasing the fumes into your cabin, that is the most common reason for petrol fumes in your aircon.
