it could be the connector wire on the cig lighter. check it is all there and that the pin and clip are in the right place. check that there is no other problems with other electronics.

You likely have a blown fuse. I have heard using the cigarette lighter for charging your cell phone can blow the fuse - was told to use the charger inside the center console for charging my cell phone.
this circuit is generally unfused so the problem is either in the lighter, or the base of lighter porthole. either one is availabe at parts houses....plug you cell phone in, if it doesn't work....replace the light base (socket)....
Try checking the fuse inside the charger. Ths may be blown. Have you tried another charger in its place ex. cell phone or radar detector? If works for the cig lighter should charge.
