The sound of water swishing about under the hood - sometimes the water actually comes through the side of the glove box. I think the water is not draining from the area below the windscreen - should this area have a drain hole? if so where?

    Hi,

    Thanks RedBear.

Tried the hose - it drained OK. So any idea how I go about accessing the blower box ? I have A/C. Haynes manual is on the way but is two weeks to delivery.

I would like to do something before then.

    Thanks in advance

    Simon

You can run your garden hose onto your windshield and see if it drains from both fenders (close to the doors). If the water isn't pooling under the wiper-blades then it is probably a clogged drain inside the blower box or air inside your heater-core (could be caused by a leak and-or low coolant.

Does car have a/c ? if so i would check the drain for the condenser. it might be plugged and letting water build up instead of draining

Cannot find 2004 hyudai santa fe blower motor resistor location I have been following the online diagrams and pictures. i even started to remove glove box but still cant find it. Is it under hood? Thx

it should be in the A/C Heater box held in by two screws and it has 3 and sometimes 4 wires pluged into it it's looks flat with the wires in the middle of it, sometimes it's under the hood and sometimes under the dash on the passenger side, you might have to remove the glove box to get to it

Leak onto floor behind the glove box, also making defrost slow to work.

i'm thinking this leak may actually be caused by a rusted out spot or hole on the hood of the vehilce, or by the windshield seal coming loose allowing water to enter..

if the cars antenna is above that area where the leak is it can also come from that..

basically it will enter the hood, run down the sides and gather on the floor under the glove compartment...

you said its only when its raining right ?? so its definitely a leak.

Hello - I have a swishing sound on my 2001 jeep grand cherokee coming from around the glove box. I've heard it could be the heater core but want to confirm and find out approximately how much it costs to...

are you having problems with heat??? is the windshield fogging up from the inside?? if not the core is probably ok. may be as simple as water got in under the hood in that area. it all depends on who does the work. it can be anywhere from $200 - $500.

Can condensation collect causing a swish sound?

Yes it can, there is a drain for the ac box,on the outside under the firewall, that is stopped up,use a small weak wire to unclog it or air pressure.

Blower motor location for 2000 Caravan

The motor is located just under the glove box on the passenger side. I remove the glove box then the panel below the glove box. I also go ahead and pull back the carpet and the padding under the motor. It is held in place by 3-4 bolts that take a 7-8 millimeter socket. I use a swivel extension for the back bolts. The motor with the fan blade attached is a tight fit, just keep wiggling and pulling it should come out. Try to remove the old moter without cracking the fan blade, because sometimes the replacement motor doesn't come with a blade
