Try taking penatrating oil (PB Blaster is my favorite). Squirt a good amount into the lock cylinder and then run the key in and out of the lock cylinder a good many times. Repeat this process a few times and the lock should free up and you should be able to turn the key inside the lock cylinder.

Can't open 2002 VW Polo rear door from inside or outside. Lock button does not go up when car unlocked. Tried hooking mechanism through door handle but still no good.

Hi:
Most likely the power lock/unlock solenoid in the door has seized up or rusted, not allowing the door to open or unlock. If the inside door panel can be removed, with the door closed, you should be able to disconnect/ or replace the door lock solenoid and be back in business.

Door key will not open door

Will door key insert into lock cylinder? Usually exterior door lock cylinders may seize due to lack of use if using the key fob. You can use WD-40 and insert the straw into the lock and spray liberaly. Use the key in a sawing motion while applying turning pressure on the lock. This will normally free up any seized/sticky wafers in the lock assembly

MY REAR DOORS WILL NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE NOR THE OUTSIDE AND i HAVE TAKEN OFF INSIDE DOOR PANELS IT SEEMS TO BE SEIZED WHAT CAN I DO TO OPEN THE DOORS TO BE ABLE TO REPAIR

To start, you need to spray something on the seized up parts, WD 40, penetrating oil, ect...and let it sit overnight..if it is your (or have) electric locks (these usually seize up), take off the rode to the latch....Hope this will help You ?? Good Luck...

My driver side door lock will not open with key or power lock all other doors work. I need your advice can it be a fuse?

if it was a fuse none of the doors would work.it sounds more like the electric lock motor is seized not allowing the key to turn to the unlock position because the rod for the motor is seized not allowing it to turn to unlock as both manual and electric are tie to each other through the many rods/levers that work together.

The back door in this jeep is stuck, the lock will not open with the handle

back door hatch or back passenger door?

More than likely the lock has seized and you'll have to take the interior door panel off in order to access the mechanics of the door lock to see what is jammed. Good luck.

Where is the gas lever on 94 golf

There is no lever for the fuel filler flap. It locks via the central lock of the car & is unlock when you unlock the car. There will be a finger access to pull the door open or push the door in & it will spring out.
The locking mechanism does fail to work & the door will be locked shut.
The owners manual has a description of what to do if the lock fails.
The hinge can seize up & be stiff to open.

Power door locks lock but will not unlock

Get a can of penetrating spray, (WD-40) or similar, and attach the little tube to the can, and direct spray inside the latch area of the door, and spray up,down, behind etc., all around area of latch, enough that it will run down to areas you can't see as well. As well, stick tube as far inside key holes as you can and spray inside it, as well as spray as you draw it back out of the hole. It may take a couple of these treatments, but any linkages that are partially seized/rusted, will hopefully become un-seized and start working again. Once they are working again, get a spray can of "white lithium grease" shake it well and spray it in the same places, same manner, to keep them lubricated, and hopefully from seizing up again.

96Nissan Sentra Drivers side door/trunk locks broken

my 97 had the same problem. if the key fits the lock and will turn the lock but the lock wont open the door then your problem lies in the linkage between the door lock cylinder and the locking mechanism.

if the key fits the lock and the lock wont turn at all, this is what happened to me, then your lock is seized. Ive actually seen this on alot of 95-99 sentras it seems to be some sort of design flaw. what I had to do was to replace the lock cylinder and locate a new key. the locks from a dealer are a little pricy so i went around to salvage yards, every nissan sentra from said year range door locks were all seized, I even tried the 200sx as its the same car but a 2 door, same problem. luckily i found out that the 94 nissan altimas have the same door locks so I dismantled the inside door panel of said altima and snagged both front door lock cylinders. i also got lucky as the key was still in the ignition, replaced both locks and got a key for about 20 bucks. depending on your problem you might need new lock cylinders

Back door on drivers side locked wont open or close all other doors working fine with key and fob ,cant open door

can you lift the lock knob up at all?? If you can lift it and the door stays locked, the linkage inside the door is broken.. if you can't lift it up, then the linkage is most likely seized... you'll need to remove the door panel to actually see it

Passenger door lock jammed

Your door latch assembly may be compromised. It could be rusted, the electric solenoid (if it has one) may be seized. Or the rods from the key are bent. Are you using th key in this door regularly? If not, the tumblers in the lock may be seized. Spray some WD-40 in the lock where the key goes, and jam the key in & out repeatedly, and retry. Remove the door panel & spray the interior of the latch, also. Hope this works for you; or, you are going to need new latches.
