I do not believe so . Code p0715 if that relates to your question refers to the turbine shaft speed(TSS) sensor-circuit malfunction===causes wiring--TSS sensor--ECM/TCM
The drive speed sensor is the sensor that works the speedo and sends impulses to the transmission control module to change gears in relation to the turbine speed sensor
This is how the TCM knows when to change ratios in the transmission because of the differences in recorded speeds of the engine torque convertor and the drive shaft

How do i change transmission speed sensor?

It is located in the tailshaft housing of the transmission. You simply unbolt the retainer, un-plug the wires, and pop out the old sensor. Stick the new one in, bolt down the retainer, and plug in the new one.

What would cause transmisson only have 2 and 3rd gear and got to manualy shift them and speed odomator doesnt work

The problem is the speedometer is not working and the computer cant tell ****** when to shift as it doesnt know the speed, have the speed sensor on the ****** checked. the speed sensor is the problem in most of these cases and is not hard to replace and i think that will solve your problem. also the check engine light should of come on also, if it did you can have the computer scanned to see if you have a speed sensor code, if you do then that will tell you its the speed sensor, this sensor is also called out shaft speed sensor. heres a picture to help you locate the speed sensor on the ******. good day hope this helps.2_14_2012_6_57_56_pm.gif

How to change the speed sensor

I assume you know the location of the sensor if not, it is located on top of the transmission unit. Disconnect the wire connector, unscrew 2 screws holding the speed sensor the you are done.

I bought a speed sensor and i need to know how am i supposed to change it in a 1997 chevy cavalier. Do i take the transmittion apart or what? and where is it located the speed sensor

No, trany doesnt come apart, the sensor is locted on the top of transaxle, if you follow the pass/side axle to trany you will see sensor, you just remove the bolt holding the sensor then wiggle sensor out and install new one, heres a picture of its location.05ae7ce.gif
