Fuel filter was loose, rinsed out with clean fuel, filled it & put it back in place & secured it. Canks but won't start. Acts like air in the system/not getting fuel. Where do I bleed the fuel system from. I have know manual. In Afganistan.

Try looking to see if the fuel-shutoff is working, open only one fitting instead of two injectors. Check the glow-plugs or intake heater if applicable. You can put an in-line electric fuel-pump in place. This can help you find out if there is a hidden fuel-leak, system loosing its prime, or bad lift-pump. If this still doesn't help then you may want to dig deeper and see if the shaft broke on the injection pump. Remember to mark the pump so you put it back exactly where it was. Rule of thumb is to set the timing to TDC on cylinder #1. Mark the gears with ink or white-out. and the injection pump case too. Let me know how its going.

Check to see if you have spark, if you do, and still it does not start, then you may think that fuel is not getting to it. At this point, use some starting fluid and spray it at the throttle opening. That should start it for a few seconds and give you the answer.

Most Fords have a fuel reset button. When you ran out of gas you tripped the circuit. Most of the time the button will be on the passenger side by the kick panel. The exact location should be in your owners manual or your local library or auto parts store will have a copy of one for your specific vehicle.
Hello
The engine and
transmission in this cars drivetrain is fully electronically
controlled by a computer called the PCM (Powertrain Control Module).
Whenever a problem like this occurs the computer stores a record of
the problem in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these
fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special
tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the
appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s)
sounds like the timing is off. check the firing order to be sure your plug wires are on the correct positions on the coil packs. if that checks out, possibly a timing chain may need replaced. i hope this helps

The motor is diesel. What plugs are you talking about pulling out? Glow plugs?
