If it runs fine when driving not likely the pump,it may be a idle control or throttle position sensor

SOURCE: ford festiva just dies while going down the road

i had many problems with what i thought was my starter/ignition and replaced my alternator and battery. tho they were helpful, ultimately the problem was a small fusible link that had needed to be replaced, as it was over heating and when it would it would stop whatever electrical signal was imperitive to the car actually running. if i was driving and the wire over heated, it would stop running right on the road. i just used some 12 AWG stranded wire and it stopped stalling.i discovered it by accident when i touched the wire and noticed it was excessively hot and worn down. it was located in the upper right hand corner under the hood, where there are 3 wires, brown and black.

SOURCE: 94 taurus dies while driving. replaced ignition

Check the coil for a white ash look any where on the coil. This is an indication that there is a crack in the case and its firing thru it. this can cause that problem. one other is the pick up coil in the distributor. these will not show anything. theres no way to check because when they are cool, they will test fine, but when there hot they just die. when they cool down , they work again

SOURCE: air in fuel line. changed

I'm a little confused. You changed all the fuel filters? How many do you have? If you have a late model vehicle, then your fuel pump is in the fuel tank. How did you put an in line filter before the pump. Is your vehicle gas or diesel?

My 2003 Hyundai Elantra Starts by then Dies, as though it's not getting gas.

No! If you can start it right back up I seriously doubt it but you do ablsolutely need to change fuel filters every 15,000 miles and forget about oil changes they do nothing for the car. But a plugged fuel filter will kill a fuel pump and average cost of a gob like that here in Seattle is around $500-700.
But you need to find that leak and fix it you can be loosing enough fuel pressure through that leak to cause a problem like yours.
Please rate me as a fixya! Thank you Randy
