Would bad connection in the starter cause the ignition switch to not start

If the ignition switch is turned to the crank position and there is no starter operation the starter may be at fault. You will have to check and see if the start wire on the starter solenoid has power when the key is turned to the crank position. If there is power then the starter is bad . If no power there is an electrical issue to the starter

How to fixed wont start engine..

test the following and fix it. GOD BLESS you.fe35589e-c7d2-4fa3-a813-99841956a6cb.gif
If nothing happens when you turn the ignition key to the "Start" position, it means that the starter motor doesn't turn over the engine. Most commonly this could be caused by a dead battery;
If the battery checks out OK, but the starter still won't crank, there could be a number of possible reasons. Here are some of them:

The ignition switch could be bad - it's a common problem. An ignition switch is an electrical switch installed at the back of the ignition lock mechanism. If jiggling the key in the ignition helps start the car, the ignition switch should be checked first.
The starter solenoid control wire could have a bad connection.
The starter motor itself or a starter solenoid could be bad.
A neutral safety switch is bad. If a car doesn't start with the transmission in Park, but starts in Neutral, it could be caused by a problem with a neutral safety switch.
.
A problem with vehicle's security system or some other electronic control module (e.g., ECM, BCM) may also prevent the starter from operating.

The starter keeps runing when I turn off the ignition switch

You have one of 3 issues that could cause this, a bad starter solenoid which is built onto the starter for your model. The ignition switch is defective, could be a bad spring that is in the switch or you have a remote starter which may have issues !

Car won't start. Just replaced battery, alterntor and fuel pump. Keeps on cutting off and won't crank.

check the wire from battery to starter and make sure its clean and tight! if wire is ok, it maybe in starter or starter solinoid. also check and be sure wire on ignition to starter is ok.make sure power is at or going through ignition switch. a bad ignition switch will cause many starting problems. if switch is bad, then dash lights will not go off when turning key off. check wiring and starter first. have a good day !

No power to starter

CHECK BATTERY CABLES FOR CLEANESS FROM CORROSSION AND TIGHT CONNECTION. IF NO POWER GOING TO STARTER COULD BE FAULTY STARTER RELAYOR FUSE ALSO BAD OPEN SOLENOID.IF ALL IS GOOD FAULTY PARK AND NEUTRAL SWITCH WILL CAUSE NO START PROBLEMS.IF DASH LIGHTS DONT COME ON WHEN YOU TURN IGNITION SWITCH ON CHECK IGNITION FUSE IF OKAY.FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH WILL CAUSE NO POWER TO STARTER.

Car won't start. My guess is either ignition or perhaps starter. Battery has plenty of juice and fuses on fuse panel all look good.

IF YOU TURN IGNITION SWITCH ON POSITION GET NO DASH LIGHTS RESPONSE.IGNITION SWITCH IS BAD.IF YOU ARE GETTING DASH LIGHTS.YOUR STARTER SOLENOID OR STARTER IS BAD.THE STARTER REAY IS BAD OR FAULTY CLUTCH PEDAL SWITCH FOR MANUAL TRANSMISSION OR TRANSMISSION PARK NEUTRAL SWITCH OR SHIFT SENSOR BAD.THESE ARE THE POSSIBLE CAUSES.
