I have a hyundai Santa-Fe 2003 model, we replaced timing belt and crank shaft position sensor but the car can't start what could be the problem please..
My car would turn over but wouldn 't start, after changing all the same stuff you did it kept not starting again , so i changed the purge control valve and it's been good so far . seems to be a common problem, there are 2 on the car but they say its the one on the engine they always replace, better check that first to be sure.

OK. just follow the number on the ignition coils.
And the number on the cylinders are.
The FIREWALL side are 1,3,5, Starting from the belts location.
The RADIATOR side are 2,4,6, Starting from the belts location.
The coil with number 1 go to cylinder 1. as the same way the rest of the coils and cylinders.

hi the sensor is in with the timing belt. You will have to remove the timing belt cover and belt to put a new one in. You will also see a small gold metal rotor that spins on this sensor also replace that or it will trash the new sensor.

its your serpentine belt (thats what its called) and you will need a 3/8 ratchet and then find the belt tensioner. The tensioner has a spot where you need to put the ratchet into and pull or push depending on whatever way and that will releive the pressure off the belt so you can take it off.

Well I went ahead and took a go at changing the coils, plugs and wires yesterday. It literally took maybe 15 minutes and my hands didn't even get dirty. This is something that the auto place wanted to charge me 650 to do. I spent 200 on parts. I didn't realize the coils were the things sitting on top of the spark plugs. I think my 4 year old could've done it. All I had to do was unbolt the coils detach the wires and then replace. It was too simple.
