Sounds like the injector sleeve O rings have failed this was common.
if you put a clear plastic piece of hose on supply line for diesel fuel filter to head fitting at front and fuel is not black but normal diesel colour thats good.
then put clear hose on return line fitting at rear of cylinder head and fuel is now darker, engine oil is by passing injector sleeve top O rings and entering into fuel gallery in head.
rocker cover, injector rail, injectors need removing and injector sleeves need replacing as well as O rings and seats.
a special tool is needed to remove the injector sleeves out of the head. you will also need to drain the cooling system before removing the injector sleeves, so coolant is also needed.
dealers have special tool for injector sleeves

number one in picture notch in cam gear is timed to rear cover which has notch also and the bottom pulley you align up to where number 3 is pointing notch in backing plate and mark on gear, after belt is off because it doesnt line up for a long time, you can turn this over by hand, also make sure that timing mark on crank pulley is at TDC,

White smoke is usually a sign of coolant burning. Carefully open the coolant cap, sniff the inside. If there is an exhaust smell you more than likely have head gasket problems. A further diagnosis is needed to be sure. Also ensure that any wires/plugs are reconnected. If the oil sensor is unplugged the vehicle wont start.

SOURCE: My Isuzu Bighorn 4JX1 RJM Engine stalled after

the engine oil pumps are in the rear of the engine(trans out) and behind flexplate /flywheel, were any of these 2 engine oil pumps touched if so the flywheel /flexplate has to be timed to crankshaft position, so you might have it in the wrong position, if your talking about the diesel lift pump (injector pump) that also supplies high pressure engine oil to injectors, after replacing this there is a learn procedure for the rail pressure control valve that is on pump. this can only be done by dealer or some one with Tech2 scanner tool.

I need help to set my timing op my opel kadett 1.4 1995 model ..please

timing marks are on the cam belt wheels and on the oil pump and camshaft housing. tension of the cam belt get adjusted with the water pump, replace water pump at the same time to save to do the job twice, because water pump leaks a lot of times a few 1000k's after cambelt has been replaced.

2005 peugeot 206 GTI 180 cambelt changed at 82,000kms water pump now leaking advised to change cambelt at same time as replacing water pump odometer is now at 92,000 kms. What do you think?

when replacing the pump if the timing belt has to be removed , it is not necessary to replace the belt PROVIDING THAT THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE IS FOLLOWED
before removing the belt mark it with an arrow indication direction of movement replace the belt with the arrow correctly position as before removal
timing belts ( for want of a better description) breakin from running in a set direction
if replaced running in the reverse direction then the "breakin" gets far worse and early belt failure occurs
when the belt was replaced , if the cam seals , crank seals idler and hydraulic adjuster were not replaced then it might be worthwhile to have it done with the water pump as oil on a belt reduces the life to about 1/2

Isuzu trooper 2004 model 4jx1 engine what was the fly wheel marks if it was at tdc

if flywheel is fitted in correct position the timing mark on the front top cambelt gear is at 12 O clock and with starter motor removed you will see 3 lines stamped in the interuptor ring that is bolted to the rear of the flywheel if manual on early builds, also there is a notch in flywheel which you can see if gearbox is out this goes at 6 O clock

How to set the time belt?

4 Cylinder diesel(4JX1) :
1 - Timing mark
2 - Cam pulley
3 - HP Oil pump pulley
4 - Tensioner pulley

suzman_0.jpg

6 Cylinder petrol:
Align crank(C) timing notch mark (1) to oil pump mark.
Align cam pulley(L+R) marks(3) to cylinder head marks
The cam belt has 3 marks, 2 lines and one mark that is actually a row of dots. Align the dots to the crank pulley groove mark(2) and align the other 2 lines to the cam pulley marks. Using a clothes peg to hold the belt to the cam pulleys works wonders to keep it in place while fitting. Please note the arrows on the belt and have them point in the direction of rotation - right to left side of engine
W - water pump pulley
I - Idler pulley
T - Tensioner pulley.

If for some reason you need to realign the cams on each bank :
Standing in front of the car and starting from YOUR left , looking at the cams you should see RE, RI, LI, LE on each of the camshafts.(R for right bank, L for left bank, I for intake and E for exhaust) Right bank camshafts are marked with one dot, left bank with 2 dots on the shaft itself. To align the camshafts to each other each cam shaft gear has a mark on it. Draw an imaginary line between the centre of the camshaft and the centre of the pulley. The alignment mark should be between the two along this imaginary line. The result will be that RI an RE will be at the top of each gear. The same with the left bank.

Fitting new cambelt on a honda civic 1.7d 2003 after cambelt failure need diesel pump timing mark.

You will need a Locking pin kit for timing the Pump to the Engine - and of course detailed instructions so that you do not damage anything - which can cost you quite a bit of money.

I beleive that your engine is an Izuzu. In any event, you will need to use the alignment/Locking pins on the Engine AND the Injector Pump.
