On our 2004 Hyundai Sonata, the seat belt chime alarm rings constantly, even though we ARE wearing our seatbelts. How can we disable this? Thanks.

On my 2005 - There is a pin on the inside of the driver's side door - covered with a black piece of rubber - We built up a layer of 2 to 4 pieces of duct tape on the swinging door to hold the pin tigher - every now and then you need to replace the duct tape -and just to everyone else - it was ringing with the seat belt on while driving sometimes - for hours!! I took it to the dealer and they had only a temporary solution - the bell will still ring when you leave the keys in the car by accident and if you don't put your seat belt on! Marsha

"Get in and buckle up. Insert key and turn key to on (do not start). Wait for the warning lights to cycle. Undo and redo the seat belts 3 time in 10 seconds finshing up buckled. Turn the key to off. If you hear a chime, then you did it right. You get the seat belt light on, but no warning chime every 10 seconds."

SOURCE: disarm alarm on a 2004 sonata

If you use your keyfob to lock the doors, it will activate the alarm, and you will need to unlock with the keyfob. If you lock the doors with the lock button on the inside of the door, it should not activate the alarm.

Remove the facia plate, and remove the 4 screws that hold the radio in place. It's actually one of the simplest cars you can do.

My seatbelt on my 1999 Chevy 2500 bell keeps ringing even after I put my seat belt on and the light stays on. Can I remove a fuse to stop the annoying ringing?

I would find the wiring harness that connects to that seatbelt connector, most likely under the seat and unplug it. If that circuit is fused it isn't specified in the fuse descriptions. Alternatively you can listen to the chime and trace the location of the chime unit by ear, probably buried in the dash and disconnect it, and then pull the warning lamp.

How do I turn off the seatbelt chime on a pontiac grand prix 2008?

I only know of 2 possibbilities. You should find a find a wire connector under the drivers seat that will disable the alarm if unplugged. It will just have 2 wires. The other is to replace the radio with a non-standard one that has no module in it that rings the chime. You can raise the noise level by holding in the 6 button on the radio preset while turning the key on (without starting), ut I don't think you can turn it down...might be worth a try. Please do wear your seatbelt.
Hope this helps.

2004 Hyundai Accent. The seat belt alarm goes off even when seat belt is fastened. Very annoying. Any suggestions for fixing that short of giving Hyundai Dealer 300 bucks for a 50 cent piece of plastic?

The relay is located under the divers side instrument panel. You will find it easy enough since it chimes all the time with the key on
Here is a website for a free owners manual too if needed

How do I shutoff the seat belt chime ona 2010

Does putting the safety belt on have any effect? Generally the system works by having pressure sensors in the seats. Anyone sat down without a seatbelt on whilst the engine is running triggers the chimes. If you are carrying a box of heavy items on one of the seats this will have the same effect. The only thing is put the seatbelt buckle together.

How do i disable my seat belt alarm sound

You must lock the doors first using the KeyFob - then press and hold the remote start button for 3-5 seconds.

To disable the seatbelt chime, you must either wear your seatbelt, install an aftermarket radio (as the chime plays through the speakers), or find a used one in a junkyard - cut off the seatbelt and plug it in - Chevy does not have an override... however it will only do it 3 times in 15 minutes - then stop bothering you.

How can you turn off the Hyundai Santa Fe 2007 seat belt chime

well you could cut the dinger out.. but I would not recommend doing that. Usually it makes more sense to just wear your seat belt as local laws require

I want to get rid of the stupid door chime.

That door chime was driving me crazy too. It turned out to be really easy to pull the power cord from the chime. If you fold down the glove box by pulling the two plugs out from the inside, you can see the chime up behind the dash just to the left of the glove box. Just pull out the cord attached by removing the clip and you are golden.

Ahhhh. Sweet relief. I have been chime free in my accent for 2 months, and it makes for a much more enjoyable car.

Enjoy!
