I have a Dodge 3500 cargo van with a 5.9L. After driving the van for a bit, if you go to start it back up, it will just crank and never start. You can hear a relay buzzing in the relay box labeled ''Starter''. Also you can sometimes hear the fuel pump kicking on and off during this time period when the key is in the on position. Any help would be grealy appreciated!
I have a similar problem after the van is hot it wouldnt start back up and it gets gas just not spark i have changed a few parts out and i am not sure if my coil is getting the right power so i tried a new ecu and still did't work.
Try holding gas pedal to the floor before turning the key then flutter pedal while cranking run fuel line cleaner or octane boost through your tank. If your tank is 35 gallons you will need 2 cans to do any good. This will help to remove moisture from condensation from your fuel system. Also will help to reduce carbon build up in your exhaust. This is a common 5.9 and 5.2 V-8 problem

Check your owners manual for a fuel shut off button/reset, normally found somewhere in the back interior of the van near the gas tank fill. If you still don't get power, try checking your fuses, make sure you check for two fuse panels....one maybe under the hood and one under the dash. Check them using a lighted probe on both sides of the fuse. Also Google 1994 dodge ram 3500 wiring diagram, much found when I did it! I hope this helps!
you are on a search and destroy mission, i recommend you buy a manual with wiring diagram, at least it will tell you what is hooked on that circuit, thenits a matter of testing wiring, i suspect you have a short somewhere
SOUND LIKE INOPERATIVE GLOW PLUGS. THE GLOW PLUG RELAY OR CONTROLLER COULD BE THE PROBLEM.LET DEALERSHIP FIX IT.YOU NEED CERTAIN TOOLS TO WORK ON DIESEL ENGINES.
