Follow exhaust from engine manifold down and it is the one sticking out side of exhaust before catalytic converter.

I don't know your vehicle well enough to answer that but I can tell you that if you ask O'Reilly they will not only show you where it is but they will most likely print off an engine diagram for you in detail. Keep it, this will come in handy for you later as well.

SOURCE: Where is Bank 2 Sensor 1 (B2S1) O2 sensor located on a 1999 Siena

Bank one, sensor one is on the front of the engine, closest to the radiator.

Bank TWO, sensor one, is on the back of the engine, cosest to the firewall. That one is not easy to change, unless you have access to a vehicle hoist. Easier to get to it from under the car.

Hope htis helps; thanks for choosing FixYa!

SOURCE: Check engine light won't stay off

you could have a short in your o2 sensor wire and there for its not reading.Get a shop to hook up a diagnotic scanner and read what they are doing so you can see if its a loss of comunication or not and then go from there. Also make sure it was factory replacement o2 sensors and not one of those multifit jobs.

SOURCE: check engine light on 2003 toyota tacoma, O2 sensor?

An O2 sensor code is a tricky one. It could mean SEVERAL different things, and I know how bad it sucks to hear this, but your best bet is to take it in and have a diagnostic ran on it at either a dealer or a good mechanic shop with a computer they can hook up to it. I had an "O2" code come up a while back on another car I used to have, and literally spent weeks and hundreds of dollars trying to fix it, and never did. Finally out of desperation took it in, paid the $90, and they found the problem and fixed it in like 30 minutes. Something I would have never even thought of was causing it (can't remember off the top of my head). After that I stopped wating time and money on check engine lights. One comes on in my car, I take it to have it ran for free at and auto parts store just to make sure it's not a loose gas cap or something, just to get an idea of what I'm looking at, then go and make an appointment to have to hooked up to a diagnostic computer to track down the problem. Good luck, and hope this helps save you some time and money.

Why are my rpms staying at 1000 when I'm going 40mph?

Does your RPM gauge only go to 1000 and not record anything higher? As far as your check engine...on the Subaru Legacy the check engine usually comes on when there is an issue with something within the emission control sensors...and typically it is an issue with the forward O2 sensor going into the Catalytic Convertor. As a safety feature, the vehicle's cruise control will not work when the check engine light is engaged and the light will flash intermittently. The repair of the forward O2 (oxygen) sensor should run about $150 - $200 to replace the sensor. As with the case with most sensors, you may not notice any performance difference in the vehicle operation but you should have it diagnosed and repaired when possible because overtime the operation can be impacted.

Mitsubishi diamante 2003, changed two o2 sensors, still hesitates at start specially when warm

there should be 4 sensors in the system two are normal O2 sensors that are located after the cat converter and two are heated sensors HO2S sensors located before the cat converter. Use the special sensor removal/installer tool so that the wires are not damaged . If you only replace d 2 sensors then you may have missed the faulty unit. The check engine light will stay on until you reset it with a scanner

98 mustang gt O2 Scensor location

Hi, the O2 sensors are located on your exhaust mid-pipe all the way forward near where it attaches to your headers. If you have a factory catalytic h-pipe, they are located forward of the two forward-most cats. I have a Magnaflow catalytic x-pipe on my daily driver, so I only have two cats and the O2 sensors are super easy to get to.

02 sensor out can this fail my smog check

The simple answer is yes. Most E-check locations use a computer to check the cars diagnostics. Typically the O2 sensor will show up on your computer and oftentimes a check engine light will come on. The computer or the check engine light is an instant failure for E-check. A damaged O2 sensor also prevents your car from running at its cleanest and prevents optimal fuel efficiently. I would suggest you get it fixed. In the long run you may break even with the gas you save anyway. Good luck!

you should have three oxygen sensors on your car, one for each bank of three cylinders; should be towards the Y pipe on each exhaust manifold. Additionally you should have one on the exhaust pipe before the cadilitic converter.
