Have you replaced your PCV hose? If it gets sucked in it will cause a lot of problems.

I have p 1121 and a P 0401 codes on my 1998 ford windstar. are these related? what can I check? replaced the mass airflow sensor recently.

P1121 Ford Throttle Position Sensor Inconsistent with Mass Air Flow Sensor
http://engine-codes.com/p0401_ford.html no they are not related !
Are there any cracks in the rubber hose from air cleaner to throttle body ! That could cause the P1121 air entering after mass air flow sensor !
P1121 - Throttle Position (TP) Sensor Inconsistent with MAF Sensor The PCM monitors a vehicle operation rationality check by comparing sensed throttle position to mass air flow readings. If during key ON engine running self-test the comparison of the TP sensor and MAF sensor readings are not consistent with calibrated load values, the test fails and a diagnostic trouble code is stored in continuous memory.
  • Air leak between MAF sensor and throttle body
  • TP sensor not seated properly
  • Damaged TP sensor
  • Damaged MAF sensor
Drive vehicle and exercise throttle and TP sensor in all gears. A TP PID (TP V PID) less than 4.82 % (0.24 volt) with a LOAD PID greater than 55% or a TP V PID greater than 49.05% (2.44 volts) with a LOAD PID less than 30% indicates a hard fault. P0401 - EGR Flow Insufficient Detected The EGR system is monitored during steady state driving conditions while the EGR is commanded on. The test fails when the signal from the DPF EGR sensor indicates that EGR flow is less than the desired minimum.
  • Vacuum supply
  • EGR valve stuck closed
  • EGR valve leaks vacuum
  • EGR flow path restricted
  • EGRVR circuit shorted to PWR
  • VREF open to D.P.F. EGR sensor
  • D.P.F. EGR sensor downstream hose off or plugged
  • EGRVR circuit open to PCM
  • VPWR open to EGRVR solenoid
  • D.P.F. EGR sensor hoses both off
  • D.P.F. EGR sensor hoses reversed
  • Damaged EGR orifice tube
  • Damaged EGRVR solenoid
  • Damaged PCM
Perform KOER self-test and look for DTC P1408 as an indication of a hard fault. If P1408 is not present, look for contamination, restrictions, leaks, and intermittents

My 2002 grand caravan 3.8 L is surging when i try to accelerate at a idle, i try pushing on gas and gets worse and starts shaking real back and will not smooth out, i'v replaced ecm,and will not clear out...

Try cleaning your mass airflow sensor with Mass airflow cleaner only and change your fuel filters yes I mean filters most vehicles have to one under the hood and one mounted on the body usually there is one right under the edge of the door on the body or in the rear fender well

Code P1102 - States pending fault.

P1102 for the Mazda is :Mass Airflow Sensor Signal Inconsistent with Throttle Position Sensor. The Mass Airflow Sensor is located in the housing before the Throttle body; it reads the air coming into the system....the Throttle Position Sensor tell the ECU how much throttle you are asking for....I think that the in-air flow and the throttle are not getting the same answer; example would be that you are driving fifty miles an hour and either the MAS or the TPS are not seeing (receiving) this information. Note; most times the MAS is at fault, it can be cleaned but be very careful.

Code 157

Error code 157 on your vehicle indicates a problem with your mass airflow sensor. The mass airflow sensor gives a reading based on the air intake and output within the engine compartment. A properly functioning sensor will contribute to better fuel economy. In some instances, you may be able to clean your mass airflow sensor to clear the error code, but the error will most likely return in a short time. Fortunately, replacing the mass airflow sensor is a reasonably simple repair.

Need to know what MAF means.

MAF stands for mass air flow sensor, this is used to tell the computer how much air is entering the engine, check the air filter, and clean the sensor with CRC mass air flow cleaner, with engine off. hope this helps, let me know Ray

The mass airflow can get dirty and you will get trouble codes for everything under the hood except for the mass airflow. Try unplugging your mass airflow and driving the vehicle, if your problem goes away you need to clean the sensor. Buy some mass airflow cleaner though because other cleaners can damage the coating on the sensor.
