I had the same issue with my 91... Its the SPEED Sensor located directly under the thermostat housing (Below on tranny.) Two 10mm bolts hold it down. The un fastening the plug was the hardest part. Approx $50 at the salvage yard or $179 new. 100% YOUR FIX!

How to flush transmission on 93 honda accord?

Honda does not recommend flushing the transmission. Simply drain it and add the correct Honda (or Honda Approved Import Transmission Fluid) according to your manual. Let it heat up and with the brakes on, run it through all of the gears. Keep checking the level according to your manual. Are there other symptoms, check engine light, D light flashing, S light flashing, etc?

S----Light

I have honda accord 91 for more than 6 yrs. If the S light comes on ,it means one of the sensors are not working. it has nothing to do with transmission. It could happen sometimes during rain , or cleaning as the computer controller is under driver seat.
Once the S light blinks or comes on . Stop the car and take ignition off and wait for a minutes and put ignition again , it will be gone and will change in the speed and gear shifting will be different.
Hope it will help

Have 115,000 miles on car ..when for an oil change and was told I needed to change transmission fluid and power steering fluid....Cannot locate my manual...when do these fluids need to be changed and is...

Regarding the transmission, if you have an automatic, use genuine Honda ATF fluid only and only do a drain and refill. A power flush will damage the Honda Transmission. It should be drained and refilled every 60k initially, then every 30k afterwards.

Oil light

it sounds like your oil pump or your oil pick up might be blocked.
Try running an engine oil flush and changing your oil
