How to find engine size when it a different motor

it is not the pulley size but the motor rpm that is important
assuming that the replacement motor is of a bigger hp rating and the rpm is the same for both motors , the same pulley can be used
however if the new motor has a different rpm then we will have to know the different rpm readings to give an answer

The actual engine would be close to the same if the year and engine size are. It would depend on the difference in year and size for the components. A salvage yard would be able to tell you for sure.

well if you plan on swapping the engine with a bigger engine then your going to need a different transmission/trans axle depending if its RWD or FWD also your going to need motor mounts in different places, depending on the size of your radiator you will need to replace it, your best bet on saving money is to go to a junk yard or pick n pull and get one of those, there is a lot of things to do when swapping out an engine for a bigger size one, knowing Chrysler there alot of things, electronically as well

3/16" Brake line. It can be bought in 3'-5' lengths with fittings or in 25-50' spools. The straight lengths come with fittings. Make sure to purchase the japanese/metric style. This makes a difference in the threads of the fittings.

Don't know, but suggest you just get one from a salvage yard. A lot of GM cars would have the same mount, especially with the same engine.

Firts of all don't get a belt on line, go to the auto parts store and get one there, They can match up old belts and also look up the correct belt for your car. You need to know what year and size of the motor and what els you have that is belt driven like Ac and power steering and such. If you take your old belts in they can match them with what is in the book to make sure they are right and you don't have to worry about getting the wrong belt.

You didn't mention what size engine you had as there are a couple different size engines for that year. I gave you a picture of the most common engine which would be a 4.2 liter engine. Also I don't know of a crank"case" position sensor but am guessing you are talking about a crank"shaft" postion sensor. Now I'm not quite sure of why you are replacing it but I can tell you there is a procedure called a relearn when you install a new one to teach your PCM (computer) to comunicate with it. In anycase, I'm not sure of a crank"case" position sensor but ther is a crank"shaft" position sensor. Also you didn't mention the engine size that you have and there are a couple of different engines for a 2004. Below is a picture of the crank"shaft" position sensor for the most common engine for the Trailblazer for that year which is a 4.2 liter. Now I'm not sure as to why you are replacing it but if you are there is a procedure you need to follow to "teach" your PCM (computer) to comunicate with the new one. Don't know what size engine ,so assuming it's a six cylinder, 2 belts. There are two up positions on a cylinder. compression stroke and exhaust stroke. you could have the cam/s off 180 degrees.

You remove the oil pan only

If you have 4 wheel drive truck, then you remove
the center differential to remove the pan

May want a different repair shop
