Chevy cavalier 2001, engine cuts out, will restart and goes a week or so before repeating. Fuel pump relay/regulator or computer? Any way of testing.

Best thing to do is take it to shop and have them diagnose it for you that way theres no risk of mis diagnoses and you dont spend money you dont have to on the wrong part i do it all the time when you find out what you need check out www.autopartsdirecttoyou.com they got mostly every thing and if its not listed call them up they can probably get it.

Could be the ecm which controls the relay for the fuel pump and the firing of the spark plugs.

2000 Chevy Silverado fuel pumps new regulations new every time I started it cuts back off what's the problem

There is a fuel pump relay that turns the pump on and off and that relay is controlled by the computer ecm. So with testing you could rule out the computers or the relay to see what it is .

Chevy 2001 Cavalier won't start

Trace the power source from fuse to relay etc and make sure pump is working. if all checks out then check pump working and for preasue at engine. you may have a dammaged fuel line from the tank which would also cause the same problem
