What parts do I change to tune up my 2008 dodge caliber

For a standard tune-up, the parts needed include an air filter, oil filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, and spark plug wires. You should also have oil, transmission fluid, coolant, windshield washer fluid, and brake fluid available. A tune-up consists of topping off or replacing fluids, changing spark plugs and spark plug wires, changing the fuel, oil, and air filters, and checking the pressures of the tires. More detailed tune-ups run a diagnostic test on the vehicle to check for any codes that indicate additional issues.

What does a major tune up for a 2004 chevy impala consist of? What should be done and needs to be done?

New spark plugs, oil and oil filter, transmission flush and fill, fuel filter, air filter, coolant flush and fill, clean throttle body plate and bore, clean the MAF sensor, replace any loose or cracked vacuum lines, PCV valve, new air filter, new battery.

99% of the time all you should ever need for a tune up is new spark plugs, and a clean air filter and throttle body. But since your inquiry indicated "major" I gave it more critical thought.

HOW TO TUNE UP MY CAR

You tune-up your car by changing the spark plugs, wires and oil change. if you have a four cylinder car you will have four spark plugs. If you have six cylinder you will have six spark plugs. You need to make sure you use the correct spark plugs to replace the old ones. Check with your parts company to make sure you get the correct ones. You will also need a spark plug socket. Remember when you take the plugs off the spark plugs, if have to remember to put them back the same way they came off. If you don't it could make the car misfire.

Replacing spark plugs

unless you have a specific issue with the plugs , don't waste your money changing them
the v6 engine has the rear plugs as platinum plugs because it is near impossible to change them and modern engines
( manufacturer design fault in the location of the engine and so they fitted special plugs before installing the engine )
plugs last the life of the engine
if you are doing a "tune up" that is a waste of money as the ECM tunes the engine 60 times a minute
all you have to do for a "tune up" is to have the fault codes read for sensor problems
