Power doors locks will not operate
Jason, unfortunately this is a common problem with this year model truck. I've replaced the driver and passenger door lock actuators on my '08 Silverado. If you are a DIY guy you can buy an actuator for around $120 and save the $100+ hourly rate the dealer will charge to do it. There are several good videos on YouTube that show how to remove the door panels with a few common tools. It's not difficult but can try your patience. Post any follow-up questions you may have.

it's not the girlfriend, it is the PDM, passanger door module, got mine a rock auto for 120.00, need to get the one specific for your VIN, not on most parts lists, it is a control board for all power windows and locks and the keyless entry. My cadillac was doing exsactly what your truck is doing. once you put the new one in you need to reprogram the remotes, not too hard, hold down lock button on drivers door, ignition on/off twice, let go of the door lock button, press both unlock, lock buttons and hold untill you hear the lock unlock. your program sequence might be slightlyl different check the web.
good luck.

I know this sounds strange but I believe the problem is in the drivers door. This is where the master switch is and controls the other doors. Have it tested or replaced. Hope this helps. Good luck.

we have a 08 1500 crewcab chevy that all the power door locks worked excepted the drivers door. We started to look at that door power lock actuater and now the passenger power door lock does not work. Could the trouble be something other than actuaters?

Hello: The lock/unlock unit is part of the mechanical door lock assembly. The first thing to do is remove the door panel. Check and make sure the linkages are all connected, then make sure the wires are properly connected to the door lock assembly. If all the previous is ok then you will need to replace the lock/unlock assembly. to do this you need to remove the mechanical lock assembly first then remove the actuator. It might be best to have a professional accomplish this task. You also should disconnect the actuator an check to make sure you have 12v going to the actuator when you activate the door lock switch.
