SOURCE: Broken Hood Release

Hello There

In short no there isn't, however it's most likely your plastic release lever is broken and not the metal cable, you need to open the cover over the release lever, there will be a cable you can pull using a gripper and it will release the bonnet, you can easily replace the plastic llever and it's reletively cheap.

Hope this helps, please don't forget to rate me.

SOURCE: 94 camry hood wont open, latch cable attached but

When those stick sometimes you can free them by having one person pull the latch while the other person pushes down on the front of the hood if that gets it open make sure you lubricate the mechanism with a spray lube - I like the white lithium spray lube

SOURCE: hood latch on 95 Toyota Tercel won't shut.

What I would do is spray both the latch and release cable end with a good penetrating fluid. Be quite liberal with it and work the latch open and closed and the cable until both move freely and easily. It may take more than one application of fluid to achieve this. Once it is working freely the spray both with a good lubricant, preferably one with "white lithium grease" in it. Work it into the latch and cable and that should solve your problem. Then once or twice a year give them another application to keep them working. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: 1992 Toyota Corolla hood wont open, Cable broke

first, try smacking the hood at one of the front corners while someone else pulls the release handle. or even after you've pulled on it. if that works, once open, adjust and lubricate the hood latch assembly. if it still won't open, and it's the cable and not the latch you'll have to replace it anyway, so instead of removing the grill, cut the cable behind the pull lever under the dash where you can reach it. then skin the outer cable insulation away from the actual steel cable exposing an inch or two of it. then holding the insulation and plastic housing with pliers, grab the steel cable itself with pliers and pull it to open the hood. then replace the cable. the further you can reach up under the panel the better your chances of getting past the broken part of the cable and avoid removing the grill. you might also be able to gain access from up under the car if you're lucky.

From under front of vehicle, lay under hood and remove the hood latch with a long extension and rachet. This works on most vehicles. God-Bless!

The hood on my 99 sunfire is closed shut and won't

The cable is probably broken and not connected to the latch. There are two latches, a primary which the cable is connected, and the secondary or safety.
You'll have to try to access the latch from under the car going up between the bumper and the radiator. You may need a body shop to do it.

Chrysler crossfire, hood open lever under steering wheel will not work, can i open it manually with tools?

the cable has probably broken, you have to get to the latch from underneath the car, its hard to get to, and with any luck the cable broke someplace other than right at the latch, if so you can use vice grips and grab the cable and pull like crazy to unlatch it

How do i open the hood.

there should be a lever that is on the bottom edge of dash that is under the steering wheel along the trim. if the handle is broken you can use pliers to grab the cable and pull it to get the hood to realse. if you found all that and i seems to work ok then when pulling the release lever have a friend hit or shake the hood to get it to pop up a little so that you can open it all the way.

Where is hood latch on Nissan 350Z? I found the release under the steering wheel, but can't find feel hood latch.

From where the release for the steering wheel is, move your hand left and down along the dash, the latch is there with a picture of the car with hood open on it, pull that latch towards you and the hood is opened.

How do you get the hood open if the hood latch wont open

You will need to reach under the top of your hood to see if you can locate the release cable. There should be one on either side of the hood. If you can reach the cable and manage to get one side or the other released, a repetitive bouncing up & down motion on the hood should cause the other side to release.

Alternatively, if you find that the cable has broken inside under the dash, you cat tru to expose the end of the inner cable in order to be able to grasp onto the cable with a pair of vice grips or other form of plyers. Pulling on the inner cable should release the hood latches.

Very close quarters, and tight tolerances.

How do you install a hood release cable in a 1999 300m

piece of cake for me, probably hell for you but here goes, open the hood, Disconnect the cable from the latch wich is located on your hood, then dislocate the other side of the cable from inside the vehicle (under the steering column, left side it should say hood release on the handle). Once this is acomplished look at the grommet openinig where the cable actually goes through the firewall, you must now determin if the cable can slide through easily, I usually attach the new cable to the old cable with electrical tape then I spray the whole cable down with WD-40, then I slide the cable out while pulling the new one in place, remove the tape/oldcable and begin to run the cable exactly like the old one, warning: if you route the cable wrong your cable can bind, which means that your going to close your hood and it wont open up, so you need to run it exactly the same, and when your done dont slam your hood shut. Take a screwdriver and manually lock your hood latch, then pull the handle and make sure it opens easily, if the latch passes the test you should be okay
