Cam poisition sensor/and temp control sensor

I put a new motor in my car and replaced the cam position sensor and the car fluctuates on idle and has no power my tech quit working I don't know what all incited into this sensor to make this code

When car is in park or stopped the rpms fluctuate below 1 and car stalls out.

Idle speed is normally controlled by the idle air control motor. These units get dirty and fail, but can often be cleaned and restored to normal function. You will need to remove the unit to clean it, but be careful not to damage the plunger and seat. Use carb + choke cleaner and maybe a small screwdriver (carefully), then blow unit out with compressed air. Replace gaskets as needed. Also low idle can be caused by vacuum leaks, bad O2 sensor, clogged exhaust (cat converter), dirty MAF, bad coolant temp sensor.

Have a 2002 S-10 4.3litre, at running temp, idle tends to fall too low. could it be the idle control valve or throttle position sensor? Thank you. -phil

the idle control motor may be worn tu--clean that area- is probly filthy--run a scan using at a partstore for free for any codes-TPS sensors are cheap-mite wanna replace-cud b gittn old--vacuum leak may be somewhere tu

Try the tps, throttle position sensor, and the idacv, idle air control valve. Even sometimes the temp sensor could be bad, telling the motor its cold when its really hot..

Camshaft position sensor correlation bank 1 code

timing belt is off by a tooth or two. you probably didn\'t have to replace the coolant sensor; that code sets whenever the sensor is disconnected and the ignition is turned on; and it needs to be reset by disconnecting the battery or with a code reader. anyway, the crank/ cam sensors are out of sync. if you\'ve got the twin cam engine, they are a royal pain to get the belt to lay properly on the two cams.

What was it doing before? was the idle fluctuating before you cleaned the iac. If so then you probably need to replace the sensor. what did you use to clean the sensor? Some IAC's are sensitive and cannot be cleaned without damaging them.

Car idles erratically-surges and revs up and down

1.Verify that the cooling system is full of coolant and there is no air in it. 2. Remove the air boot from the throttle body and cover the throttle body with something that will stop the airflow . the Fast Idle Valve is the problem.

something is creating alot of air to pass over the 02 sensor.


Low compression
Big vacuum leak.
Weak ignition
IAC stuck a little open.
TPS that is saying your foot is on the gas when it is not.
EGR stuck open a little.
Too low an idle
Weak spark plugs
Bad fuel pressure regulator
No vacuum to the fuel pressure regulator.
Bad coolant temp sensor.

What are the readings. Need to know the co and the hc reading in order to know if you have a misfire or an over fueling issue. All 5 reading are really needed to diagnose fuel related issues sight unseen
