I'm told that my Nissan MAxima(1996) has 4 sensors. I/ve been quoted a price od around $150 to replace the O2 sensor. One mehanic sais they would fix it and then see if that takes care of it. Sounds like they are searching for more money from an unsuspecting female. The othe mechanic said I have two sensors that are out but will see if the O2 will correct the proble right so I can pass my emmissions inspection. Waht do yoy think about these guys? Your reccomendation is?

How to replace a crank case sensor on 1996 nissan pathfinder?

Crank case sensor? Sorry, I don't think I've ever heard of one. Crank position sensor? (Prob top of the bell housing directly behind the cylinder head, 10 mm headed bolt holds the shield and the sensor in place, but is only used when trouble shooting misfires.)

Location of cam and crank angle sensor in 96 N15

The cam and crank position sensor can be found in the front of the crank on the engine block below or next to the water pump in many applications.
It can also be located on the main crank pully or the flywheel.

The knock sensor is the top middle most sensor usually screwed into a solid part of hte engine with wires going to it. You can use an open ended wrench to take it off, in most cases. It's not a hard replacement. Engine Control Component Locations Engine control component locations nissan-04-00-5522.gif

How to replace a knock sensor on nissan pathfinder 1998

It's located deep in the valley! Under the "LOWER intake manifold". copy and paste this link in your browser, or try clicking on it. It may be helpful to you.

http://x.nissanhelp.com/forums/pathfinder/7890-3-3l-knock-sensor-relocation.html

I didn't find this link until after I had already disassembled my truck. This is the hardest job that I've taken on thus far, hope I can put it all back together properly. I changed the gaskets on the valve covers since I had everything off.
To answer your question: It's under your lower intake manifold, so it's a hard job!
