02 yukon died on freeway electric problem or fuel

My 2002 yukon died on the freeway. It cranks over but shows about 6 amps on the gauge,as well as showing the battery picture on the dummy light. It started for a few seconds along side the freeway but never keep running. Tow it home put a charge on the battery but no go. Check fuel filter got fuel there but when i push in the little air needle thing under the vortec cover, i cannot get fuel to come out. Even when cranking it over. Is it a fuel pump or an alternator?

When you said checked the fuel filter, did you mean changed the filter?? And does the Battery hold 12 volts?? Check the battery to make sure it has 12 volts. If you have a second car, take the alternator off and bring it to a auto parts store like Auto Zone and they can test it free of charge and battery too. Change the fuel filter, if both are good then check all the fuses and relay, Pay attention to the fuel pump fuse and ECM fuse. If everything has is good then it's going to be a bad fuel pump, which is located in the gas tank. That requires to dropping the tank to get to the fuel pump. Good luck and hope this helps.

Why does my 2000 Yukon cut out while I"m driving?

I guess you mean engine dies? You need to determine if the issue is fuel or spark. If spark, it will die flat, fuel often will sputter as it dies. If you can hook up fuel pressure gauge so that you can see it while driving this might help. If you think it is spark issue, check coil and ignition module, crank/cam sensor. Is this random or is there some pattern, such as amount of time driven?

2002 4.8l gmc yukon oil pressure problem

My suggestion would be to check it with a mechanical gauge.
You would need to use a Tee fitting to use the sensor to have fuel pressure.
If the mechanical gauge shows steady pressure at idle, it could be a problem in the wiring or the instrument cluster.

I starts only with starting fluid and it dies after 3 seconds

Check by the fuel tank

Have someone turn the key on
& listen for fuel pump

Put a pressure gauge on the motor
at fuel rail & check pressure

Pump only runs for 3 sec, if you got no crank signal
or it fails to start

Have to cycle key

Ecm fuse keeps blowing

just fixed this problem, change your fuel pump module, fuel sending unit shorts out on fuel level swing arm blue wire... unfortinately you must replace it as unit because of the design, fuel pump and tank guage fuel level sending unit are a one peice item, fuel tank has to come out to change unit, about a $ 700.00 repair too... fuel pump module runs about 350 to 700 $ depending on aftermarket or factory, try to find one with a lifetime warranty even if it is $ 50.00 more worth it..labor is about $ 250 to $ 400 depending on shop labor rate... definate problem though I ahve no doubt, common problem on GM... please rate my help, thanks...

2000 explorer is dying while I drive. It will start back up but with some difficulty. Could it be the fuel pump? The gauges do flicker a little but doesnt seem like the alternator. I drove 300 miles...

which gauge flickers. When last did u changed your fuel filter I usually changed it every 6 months and they are not very expensive. ONce your fuel filter is dirty eventually some debris will come out of the filter then it will go to your injectors and that is not good.

Our 02 Yukon xl 1500 will die going up hills.

You need to have the fuel pressure tested while driving and this can be done, and with the gage. I hook up the gage to the fuel valve and put the gauge facing the windshield and wire tie it to the wipers to see if the fuel pump is bad, if the fuel pressure ranges at 30 PSI I would put a load on it to see if the fuel pressure dropped under those conditions you are driving. I would also test the fuel pressure regulator to see if it gave full fuel that means pulling off the hose and making the fuel rail pressure 50 pounds per square inch. If the regulator passed the test then I WOULD SUSPECT THE FUEL PUMP HAS QUIT. A 2002 is old enough to have this happen they wear out so I hope this helps and gives you an ideal of what to fix.
