Mine does this when I don't take the gas cap off and back on again, or when I fill my gas tank full. Try this... when light comes on. Then before you start your car take the gas cap off and back on real tight. Keep doing this each time you stop. Keep an eye out to see if engine light goes out after you have driven 50 to 100 miles.

SOURCE: check engine light

I would say that your o2 sensors are faulty either the pre or the post . They must be intermitten so I would replace both

SOURCE: Lights work, but turn key and nothing except brake

check the fuse under the hood for your starter and if it is blown replace it however this is only a quick fix as I have just fixed this problem, after time you will continue to blow fuses and the problem is your starter. However check the fuse first and see if it is blown, if so replace try to start your car, if it starts have the starter checked as well as the ignition switch.

SOURCE: '99 dodge grand caravan, 3.3ltr, battery light

you should have 14.5 +/- with the AC on you might have a week regulator or week brushes in the Altenator . but not enough at this time to cause a no start . but do have the alt tested (Load tested) at a parts store .

SOURCE: Check gage light keeps coming on, but there seems

one gauge is tripping it on,
but you have to be fast enough to check gauges when it happens,it could be the fuel gauge going to empty,or the charging one going below 12 volts,or the oil gauge falling off at an idle, the temp gauge you should be able to catch that on if it was peaking

1991 nissan d21 check engine light stays on

Run the fault codes to find the reason that the engine light came on. It is very important not to just cancel out the light as it is there to let you know that something has gone wrong in the engine and transmission that if ignored will cost big bucks. It may be a coolant sensor telling you that the car is overheating but the temp gauge is not working properly. To cancel an engine light properly-- use a code reader as constant removal or the battery lead will corrupt the CPU program and give you more problems

2005 ford focus battery light comes on often and usually stays on until the car is turned off. There is nothing wrong with the charging system and the battery is less than one year old and seems OK. Is...

check the condition and tension of the drive belt. You say there is nothing wrong with the charging system yet the battery light comes on which indicates that there is something wrong. Check for loose battery terminals . Have the alternator checked for a failed diode in the rectifier.

2008 ford fusion battery drain

there a good and easy way to check if your batterie is broken.
your batterie has some caps on if its 12 volt you have 6 caps.
turn the caps off all.start your engine while looking to your batterie.
when your starting and there comes smoke out, batterie is dead.
you must see good,so one starting and one person checking on smoke.its also a good thing to clean the connections positif and negatif aswel the cable and the batterie itself. if there are not clean and i mean
like silver color. batterie will not charged good.when you got connection,
thats looks like white cool.por some low hot water on it till its gone.
wacht out for your cloding.the white stuff can blowing away by wind,
when it come on your cloding, you will see nothing till next day,

THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THERE SEEMS TO BE NOTHING WRONG WHY?

It may have been a temporary problem. Mine does this occasionally. Have the codes read by someone with a reader. I have my own. Or: try disconnecting one battery post for a few minutes which should re boot the computer. If the problem was temporary, when you reconnect the battery, the engine light will be out. If it comes on again something needs fixing so get the codes read and find out what it is.

I have a brand new battery in the vehicle and it went dead in less than 2 weeks. Would the computer located in the fender well have anything to do with the battery being dead? I have had the alternator...

You need to check for something that is a constant drain on the battery.
Is the underhood light staying on?
Are the interior lights left on?
Is the glove box light staying on?
Has anything been added to the van recently like an alarm, radio, amplifier, etc?
Do you leave your GPS unit plugged in or cell phone charger plugged in?
I would start my search (since you have already had the alt output checked) looking for something that is draining the battery slowly.

Check Engine light....

there is a possibility of a short to the bulb... he is putting the scanner on it and clearing the code,,,,or he is just undoing the battery cable, making light go off for a bit, and then coming back on. Consider taking it to a different mechanic. but if ur check engine light is on, there is a reason its on, or a short to bulb
