Car will crank but shuts off when put in gear

you will get that warning if you shut the engine off in gear

does the code happen when you stop it in park or neutral
if not ....put it in .park before you shut the engine off ..you are overloading a sensor

not sure what that engine has
coil packs ..crank angle sensor
fault 94 is recorded as Hall sensor - voltage high (distributor )

I would think the crankshaft position sensor or ignition control module could be the problem , but without testing ,that's just a guess .

Is the car still in gear? If it is, then it will not start till you put the car in park. I've done this before and the same thing happened, had radio, lights etc...till I put car in gear and it started. Check the gear selector, if it's not in park, then put it in park and try to start. Hope that helps.

It could be anything from faulty coils, injectors, head gasket. Did the car over heat? Has it been regularly maintained, is it low on oil?

torque converor control solenoid unplug the harnesss on the transmission ull be fine

for a quick fix, try putting the car in neutral, put the key in and start the car. you'll have to have the problem checked out. the shift lock solenoid circuit is faulty.

the torque convertor is locking up,There is a plastic wire harness on top the transmission,Unplug it from the transmission and your troubles will cease,
If you want it repaired and transmission shop can do it,or you can drive it for ever unplugged

It sound like you may need to put shims between the starter and the engine block if the bendix gear and the ring gear on the flywheel are to tight it will cause that problem, when it does that shut the key off open the hood and turn the crankshaft back and forth you should here the starter disengage if not you may have internal problems in the engine.
