An engine spinning just means your battery is good and starter works. You'll need to find out if you're getting the other things you need. Those being air, fuel, and spark.
For air, take the air filter out of the picture by removing the air flow going to the carb. Try to start the car.
if it doesn't start, for Fuel, try spraying into the carb some starting fluid then try starting the car. Does it run for a little bit with the starting fluid you just sprayed in there? If so, you've probably got a fuel problem.
If the engine still won't start, take one spark plug out and keep the spark plug wire attached to it. Make sure the spark plug is touching metal so it's grouned electrically, like laying against the engine block. Don't hold the spark plug because you can get a good shock if you hold it wrong. Just lay it on the engine block. Ttry starting the engine and watch for spark at the end of the spark plug. Sometimes the spark is hard to see so doing this at night or in a garage will make it easier to see the spark which leads me to another point. Sometimes your sparkplug wires get so old they electrically aren't any good anymore. You'll be able to know that if you start your car at night and you look under the hood and see little sparks jumping from your spark plug wires to ground. This means your spark plug wires need replacing and that could be your problem. Usually the engine will run when this happens but it won't run very good as most of the spark is being shorted out.
So try to isolate where the problem is...Air, Fuel, or Spark and go from there.

SOURCE: "Cranks, but won't start". Replaced fuel pump, CKP, ICM & nothing

If the engine cranks over normally when you attempt to start you car, but the engine does not start, the problem may be NO FUEL, NO SPARK or NO COMPRESSION. The engine needs adequate fuel pressure, a properly timed spark and normal compression to start.

1) To find why the engine won't start, remove the air inlet tube from the throttle body, push the throttle open and spray a small amount of aerosol starting fluid into the engine. Crank the engine. If it has spark and compression but NO FUEL, it will start and run a few seconds before dying. If it does NOT start, it probably has NO SPARK.

2)Another method to check for spark is to pull a spark plug wire off of a spark plug (if it has plug wires, coil-on-plug ignitions do not) and place the open end of the plug wire near a metal surface on the engine. Have a helper crank the engine while you watch for a spark. DO NOT hold the wire while doing this as it can shock you. If you see a spark, the problem is not spark, but most likely NO FUEL or NO COMPRESSION. If you do not see a spark, the problem is in the IGNITION CIRCUIT.

3)Proper fuel pressure is critical for fuel injected engines to start and run. You should hear the fuel pump inside the fuel tank buzz for a couple of seconds when the ignition is turned on (no buzz means the pump is not running and the engine is not getting fuel). You can smell the tailpipe for gasoline vapors after cranking the engine. If you smell gas, the problem is likely not fuel but NO SPARK. You can also remove the plastic cap and press the schraeder valve test fitting on the fuel rail to see if there is any fuel pressure to the engine (not a very accurate test because fuel pressure must be at a certain level for the engine to start, for that you need a gauge). Even so, no fuel at the fuel rail would tell you fuel is not getting to the engine..

try to start the car, than the anti theift would shut the car off. you wait ten min with the key on, until you see the anti theift flash or disapear. than turn key to off position and try to start it. this will reprogram the computer.. Good luck.

you can also try disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes

V6 ? 4CYL? Have you verified SPARK? Did anyone check the "fuel pump inertia switch?" Its in the right front kick panel. If it was a "Anti-theft Issue" the light would be on or flashing.

Where is the safety shut off for a 2003 Pont Aztek

There is no safety shut off switch .First off you say it still won't crank , I'm assuming you mean it won't start an run . If you turn the key to the start position an the engine spins ,that is referred to as the engine cranks . You have a no crank - no start or engine cranks - no start . A fuel pump would have nothing to do with a no - crank -no start problem . If the engine is cranking an not starting check for spark at spark plugs . Is there a security light lit on the instrument cluster ? a anti-theft system problem will cause a crank - no start problem . A short on the five volt reference circuit will cause a crank - no start . A shorted map sensor , shorted TP - throttle position sensor

What do u have to do to put new steering column in to make it crank

What year vehicle ? You have a starting problem ? no - crank - no start or cranks - an no start ? Anti-theft light on ? Replacing the steering column isn't going to do anything . Depending on the year an make there is a anti-theft module or transceiver behind where your stick your key in . Does your key have the transponder or as some call it (pellet ) in the head of key ? Some anti-theft systems disable fuel injectors an still others disable the starter .

My 2007 Suzuki forenza will turn over good but will not start fuel pump new but when you turn switch on can't hear it hum gas getting to injectors reckon it could be anti theft security please thanks

Is there a SECURITY light lit on the dash ? All anti-theft systems warn you some how if a problem is present ! The fuel pump only comes on for two seconds with key on ! When cranking the engine over if a crank pulse is see by the engine computer it will energize the relay turning on the fuel pump ! You have to check the fuel pump electrical circuit from the fuel pump relay !

I turn ignition to ready position. The fuel pump engages and prime's the line. I then start the engine. Engine starts and runs for a max of 15 seconds. As soon as the engine cuts out the fuel pump...

The crank sensor is a good candidate. Pretty common failure on jeeps.
To clarify, the fuel pump is on all time during engine cranking, and during engine running. When the engine cuts off, the pump will also be stopped. But, you will not lose pressure in the fuel lines and fuel rail immediately. The check valve in the pump is supposed to hold fuel pressure in the system for a good time-about 20 minutes. The pressure should bleed off very slowly.

Your fuel pump and fuel system is probably good, but if you really lose prime (or pressure) that quickly, then there is a problem. Best way to check is with a fuel pressure gauge after the engine cuts out. Or, if you have the test port schraeder valve on the fuel rail (looks like a tire valve), you can use a screwdriver to press the center of the valve. If gas squirts out, you do have fuel pressure, prime is not lost, fuel system is good, and you can assume problem is in the ignition circuit, not a fuel problem. Probably the crank position sensor.
Good luck, Casey.

Cranks but won't start sometimes. Also has cut out while idleing in traffic and again cranks but won't start. car has new battery.

From what i've seen over the years with the Chryslers i've encountered. Your describing to the "T" what appears to be a bad Crank Sensor. I will bet money that if you replace the crank sensor it will solve your problem. BUT...Also know that a bad fuel pump can do exactly what you describe in your statement. Once the pump get hot it gets to acting stupid, but yet again so can the Crank Sensor. Still, my money is on the Crank Sensor.
