If it turns over (cranks) but does not start, it is almost surly a bad crank sensor. Check to see if your tachometer moves when cranking the engine-if it does not, install a crank sensor.

did you check the fluid level by removing the rad. cap? Radiator should be full to top. If Chryslers are low on coolant, the heater will not blow warm air.

Place a block of wood under the engine sump to prevent damage when you jack up the engine to take the tension off the mount. Make sure you do not jack the engine up too much as you might damage the exhaust,cooling hoses etc.

Remove battery and battery support you'll be able to undo starter bolt's trough there and slip starter out.

2001 pt cruiser was diving down the road and just shut off will not start:
in the ild days teh saying was, it's either the fuel or the spark. These days, add to that " vacuum hoses, relays, and interlocks, etc....". Obviously, check to be sure there is fuel. Beyond that there are so many possibilities, just take it to a reputable mechanic - or dealer. Good Luck with it
