98 deville's heater blower wont work at all.

I've replaced the blower motor , still nothing. no dtc. at the blower motor plug , there's 2 ohms to ground on black,12v on red and 4 to9 volts on white, depending on blower speed with engine running and warm. what do I check next? If the acm is bad would it have any voltage on the white wire?I don't have a cadillac scan tool.

Ohm testing a wire is no good , the wire could be damaged inside (corrosion) an have just one strand ,would show same resistance as a fully intact wire . Loaded circuit testing is the correct way , current flowing . Use a sealed beam headlamp with the correct wire gage. Hook to the B+ side an ground of the blower motor connector . If the light shines bright the power an ground circuits are good . If dim ,has resistance in the circuit . Go on youtube an watch videos on voltage drop testing .

Blower Motor Inoperative at Any Speed (Front) ?
The heater & A/C programmer is probably the problem . The 4 to9 volts on white - that's not how you test that circuit . That is a PWM - pulse width modulation circuit . The programer switches that signal on an off real fast . You need a automotive lab scope to see the square wave that would be produced .

SOURCE: 1999 cadillac deville blower dont

red black and gray are just half the connections. Red is positive 12 volts coming from fuse of circuit breaker. The black wire is either the ground or the main hot wire going to the blower motor (3 pin connection only), and the gray wire (if is is small in size) is a variable voltage coming from the body control module requesting speed for the blower motor. The blower control module varies voltage on the main wire going to the blower motor, supposedly in accordance with the requested voltage from the body control module. Usually if all fuses are okay and present on the apprpriate wire of the blower control module, the a blower motor that will not run or stays running after the key is turned off is the fault of the blower control module. If the blower control module has failed the the cause must be determined (over amping blower motor) or else new blower control module may fail when powered up.Usually blower control modules have more than three wires. Usual connections are: B+ (battery voltage) GND (chassis or engine ground), two large wires going directly to blower motor (can be any color, but are usually 10 guage in size), and an optional wire that reports voltage level back to the body control module.

SOURCE: i have only low speed on the blower motor for

on the housing under the hood where your heater core and AC plumbing is there is a plug in rheostat that you need to remove and replace-take it off with the two screws that hold it and take it to a napa and they will sell you the replacement for about $20. Good Luck!

I have a 98 DeVille and the blower motor for the heater/AC doesn't work.

Hey Jeff, you did check fuse in fuse box on driver side,if good and secure, then it may be your blower motor resister,it's located by blower motor, controls the blower motor,if bad it won't run or just on some speeds,if part doesn't fix,Autozone will refund. You can't tell by looking at resister to see if bad. Here's a link to the blower motor resistor,

Horn and power seats quit working. maxi-fuse extremely hot. pulled it out and re-inserted after it cooled down. fixed the problem temporarily (a day or so). swapped that maxi-fuse with the one above it...

which maxi fuse gets hot ? # fuse , plus amps The power seats uses a 30 amp circuit breaker ,not a fuse . The horn gets power from the same circuit breaker . . Sounds like something is drawing to much current. Do you know how to use a amp meter to test current flow . Disconnect componets till draw goes away ? How to use a wiring diagram to pin point areas in a circuit to test ?
Is there corrosion on the pins where the seat circuit breaker plugs into ? Reach under your seats an see if one of the seat motors is hot .
DeVille
The left and the right power seat system consist of the following components:
• The seat switches
• The seat relay modules
• The 4 reversible motors:
- The front vertical motor
- The rear vertical motor
- The horizontal motor
- The recline motor
These 4 motors operate independently of each other.
When the entire seat switch is pushed to the FORWARD position, the forward input of the of the seat relay is grounded.
The seat relay module supplies battery positive voltage (B+) with a ground to the horizontal motor, in response to this input. In order to drive the seat forward, the motor runs until the switch is released.
The BACK position works similar to the FORWARD position with the exception that the voltage polarity supplied by the seat relay module is reversed causing the motor to run in the opposite direction. This action drives the seat backward.
These recline switches operate similar but independently:

The seat relay module could be bad , If you don't know how to do automotive electrical circuit testing it mite be a good idea for you to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop.
Could have diagnostic trouble codes stored as well .

Blower motor has no power 1994 cadillac deville

If there is only high speed fan, then replace the resistor assembly in the heater plenum. If there is no fan at all, then check the ground to the blower- the wire fails down in the fender well. Just run a new ground from a convenient spot to the motor's plug harness. Or it could just be a bad blower motor.

Heater fan doesn,t work

if you are getting power at the fan plug, it is possible that the recycled motor is bad.

My heater fan will not work in any speed on my 98 cddy deville

your blower motor is under the hood. If you can't buy one try drilling a hole in the back of motor where the bearing is use a real small drill bit. Then you can oil the back bearing .You have to take the blower out to oil the front. The only way to do it is squirt it on the shaft and just let it run down.

Blower stopped working

Bad blower motor resistor.Remove plug & look to see if the plug is burnt/melted on any contacts. Also check the pigtail that plugs into blower motor.I only had to replace my resistor.

1999 cadillac deville air wont work

There's a blower motor (fan) under the hood and up against the firewall near the center of the car that takes some work to remove. It has gone out in the last 2 of my 4 Cadillacs. Turns out if you're not real careful with the positioning of the spark plug wires they will brush up against it, and if one of them gets cracked or brittle it will "arc" and short out the blower motor. The a/c compressor should still come on (you'll hear a click when it engages) but you won't get any air blowing into the cabin, hot or cold.

The part was like $200 stock (year 2000 prices) and it took about an hour to remove it. My Caddy at that time had this damn strut bar going across the engine bay which we eventually removed to get to the blower motor.

Heater a/c blower not working

Blower motor is located under the hood on the passenger side. You should be able to check for voltage at the plug on the blower motor. Voltage should vary according to the speed that your switch is on.(High, Med, low). I believe the wire is black or purple that connects to the blower motor with a rubber grommet on the end. If wire looks burnt or rubber is melted, my guess is that the motor won't ohm out and is burnt up as well.
