Sounds like the SLave Cylinder has givin up Possible the Reli=eice Bearing I ALWAYS Replace As A PAIR . If you can put in gear by having someone rock the car front to back and it holds well its pretty Obvious that you DO have A Clutch Master Cylinder or Clutch Slave aat Releice Bearing Problem AGAIN These Parts I REPLACE AS A PAIR. Before ANything Chech Fluid Level that will tell the store IF FULL Most Probably MASTER-- If EMPTY then See where it went Look At SLAVE if wet thats the Culpret. --->> I Hope this INFO helps you and have a good Day >> Please dont forget to RATE me ok ? Thank You

If the clutch feels firm with no play u may have worn syncronizer's in the trans, take it to trans shop and have them road test it, they will not charge in most cases.
SOURCE: transmission problems (gear linkage)
The gear linkages are not correctly aligned.
Is the gearbox mounting in exactly the same place as when you removed it?
Even a 1/4 inch will offset the gears.
hope this helps
SOURCE: Hard Clutch and 1st and 2nd Gear Shifting is hard
The clutch bearing is supposed to have a groove on the inside where it slides on the shaft That groove is supposed to have a heavy grease applied to it to prevent the bearing running dry on the collar it slides on.Regardless of your driving style, that grease is intended to remain there for the life of the clutch, (generally every clutch I have ever replaced still had some remaining lube there unless the bearing itself failed from a material defect which caused it to overheat and cause that grease to then run out of the retaining groove) I'm not there and can't see the old parts, but in my opinion the first clutch may have failed partially because of your lack of skill in using a stick shift vehicle but the second failure obviously is not your fault if the information you have posted is correct.
Good luck

This does sound like the clutch need replacement. You can try to have it adjusted .
Ah thank you - i wonder if Audi would do that rather than throw bits off at my expense? i will suggest but i bet i end up with a massive bill? and hopefully resolved and fixed?
